Feedback request for business name

Well my brain is totally gone after a great deal of time searching the forums and other sources to help in getting my business off the ground. I got business plans drafted, an appointment with my insurance rep, details on the steps I need to take to be licensed, etc but I don’t know who, ( what my business name ), I am supposed to be.

I first thought of using my name, but I hate it. My whole life I have had to spell it out every time and sometimes repeatedly to make sure the other person gets it right. So having this on my business, seemed like a problem if people were to find me.

I then moved to list out some ideas, but can’t seem to decide. They all seem to be missing something. Not sure what it is. Maybe it is my OCD kicking in that has me second guessing the choices, or maybe they are just bad and I need to keep thinking. Below are some of the better thoughts I had and would appreciate any feedback as to if I am on the right path.

Gr8reflections

charley’s detailing

iClean Cars Detailing

Wax seal detailing - ( my wife makes cards and sometimes will seal stuff with a wax seal )

CH2 Detailing

1auto-detailer

Feed back please

GR8 Reflections would be my pic, font and placement like this too. The I Clean Cars Detailing doesn't flow right but brain storming like this inspires others and maybe yourself OP, good luck to you!

In picking your name, imagine the conversation a past customer is having with a potential new customer.

"Where did you get your car detailed?"
"Well, I saw Charley @...."

If you are shooting for the elite clientele then your name should reflect it. Something elegant which would use absolute adjectives "Prestine, Immaculate, Flawless etc.."

If you want a broader clientele then choose something more casual and funny, like your iClean or Gr8

You do want to somewhat reflect and describe what you do (ie. mobile, if that is the case) and want to think ahead as far as logo, font etc... for any advertising media and promotional items (hats, stickers, t-shirts etc...)

Sorry I don't have a specific name for you. I find the naming of a business as personal as naming a child

Thanks - I am still jotting stuff down. My goal is to appeal to my market sounding professional.

This naming stuff is tough. Just when I think of a good one, it is already spoken for; I'll get one though.

How true that is with regards to naming one's business is just like naming a child. At least with my business, I only have to think up a single name versus the two that I had to think of when my twins were born.

I do appreciate the feedback and know that I will soon have a name and identity for my business.

Do You Want Your Car To Look: "Gnarly" ?
Bring It On Over To: "Detailing by Charley" !!

:)

I like GR8 Reflections.

GR8 Reflections tells people that you can make the paint "pop". Kinda gives me a feeling that you know what you are doing...

iClean Cars Detailing tells me that you are very technology oriented, a newer businesses (because of the 'i" in everything these days), and something just tells me that you are a speedy worker (which isn't always good).

Those are all decent. How about

R.A.D.
Real American Detail

All great feedback. I am still searching for just that right name.

I am incredibly OCD when it comes to my cars, ( aren't we are on this forum ) and I want to convey that to my potential customers, so a great deal of thought is taking place.

Thanks again for feedback.

I know I said I was not going to, but being a fellow OCD'er I can appreciate the sleepless night thinking and weighing, so let me throw my hat in the ring.

If you want a high end (OCD) detailing rep, what about "Distinguished Detailing"? The logo could be a double D or a single D reflected on a flawless hood?

Here is the internet definition of Distinguished with a few synonyms

-------------
Dis·tin·guished

Adjective
Successful, authoritative, and commanding great respect.
Showing dignity or authority in one's appearance or manner.

Synonyms
eminent - outstanding - prominent - notable - great

Go with a simple logo and simple name. Not to brag, but like mine. People can't remember crazy graphics and long fancy names.

Last names tend to sound higher class than first names.

Probably wouldn't go with just Charley's auto detailing. Do you have a cool or exotic sounding last name? Might be better...

One of the coolest names I can think of off hand is AMMO. Obviously it's taken.

Carolina's Finest-Auto Detailing.
How about the State, town or area you live.

That's what it is making it so challenging. I want a simple name that is easy to say and spell while conveying that I am not going to destroy their car, rather care for it as if it were one of kind.

Thought about last name, (Hamons) and for my entire life I have had to spell and respell it as everyone wants to add a "d" in there. It's also not one of those "cool" last names like Porsche, Ferrari, etc.

thanks for chiming in, all these comments help the creative juices flow.

I'm also looking at that. I've kicked around

"Palmetto-Detailing" ( we are know as the Palmetto state)

"Low Country Detailing"

neither of these are in use, (yet)

Thanks for everyones input, im also trying to come up with a name for my business, I already have a name but am thinking of changing it, I use my area code with Pressure Washing at the end, but I was thinking of using maybe my nickname Magu, like Mr. Magu's detailing or Mr. Clean's. It has to be something you can use as a domain name as well. I hope I dont spend too much time because it shouldn't take that long to come up with a simple name. I hope you find the right name for your business, Distinguished detailing is a good one.
