Fellow detailers...what is your favorite part and least favorite part of the detail?

Favorite: Pressure washing

Least favorite: Doing the back window on Sedans, especially when the angle is steep and there is no room for your hands.

Best: Love doing windows, the best with the right towel/product
Worst: Exhaust pipes!

Favorite is the polishing.

I do hate polishing bumpers though, I dread it.

And I hate doing windows.

Favorite part is seeing the customers face when they come to pickup their car and they see a complete transformation, and subsequent ritual of going to my local tavern for steak tips and Guiness. :-)

Least favorite; first few minutes of the detail (at 0-dark 30), walking around the vehicle scratching my head, wondering how I'm going to take a diamond in the rough, to a finely polished jewel, both inside and out, and stressing about how long it's going to take to diali-in what is going to take get it there. Sometimes, I'm up the entire night before thinking about it.

Thank goodness I have "Interior Gal" for the interior parts. :-)

Actually same response here...

To reiterate, I love customer responses especially the ones when they say, "i have hired a detailer before, but you went above and beyond"

It makes me realize , WOW I totally doubt my abilities when I shouldn't.

To answer both questions, worst part is looking at something and saying "DEAR GOODNESS WHY DID I TAKE THIS JOB" and a tied favorite moment is when I realize "I GOT THIS!"

Favorite parts are applying and removing wax.
Least favorite is interior glass. Specially the back window. I have the reacher tool, but even then it's a PITA.

Favorite
Seeing what you started with and awesome results when finished
Least favorite
Rear window on small cars!!

I don't like doing the doors. I guess getting around the mirrors and doors handles bugs me. My favorite part is the rear 1/4 panels due to I get the best reflection shots the way my garage is.

Least favorite, doing the process. Most favorite, when I'm finished and I can look at the final results.

Favorite: Wheels & Tires.

Least Favorite: Roofs on SUV's

Getting it perfect and getting it perfect.

I LOVE ALL OF IT!!!! Detailing is so rewarding!! Every single thing is fun, washing, diagnoses, polishing, waxing, shampooing, windows, wheels, engines, trunks, etc....... I am so thankful for having work!!

God loves it when we work with a glad heart. Jesus said “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 14).

It is not just what we are doing, but that we glorify God with our work that matters.

BRING IT - I LOVE IT !!!

Excellent God bless.

Someone listed claying as their least favorite.... seriously? Out of all the mundane tasks associated with this job, claying is your least favorite? Wow!

Favorite: Final wipe down prior to delivery.

Least favorite: 3- Way Tie - Interior glass (especially the rear windscreen), the far rear area on SUV's and the roof of vans, SUV's and double cabs of trucks - especially if I'm polishing.

I'm a big guy and I can't believe the positions I have to contort into to reach the farthest areas of a rear window. The more swept the design, the harder it is to reach them.
