Hey guys,

I own a dark gray truck and next weekend ill be claying it. Following it with a meg 105 then 205 using the meguairs DA110v2. Ive been using Poor Boys Natty blue wax as i love how it makes the truck pop but im thinking of trying out Collinite 845 as i hear its truly durable and looks amazing. Now my question is...what would be another wax/sealant to layer on top of the collinite...or should i put the c845 on top of another wax? Looking for depth, wet-look, flake popping shine thatll hold up to Daily driven duty. lol

Also whats the main difference between paste vs liquid? ive always used paste waxes and applied em by hand. Would be nice you use something liquid and get to use my wax pad on the g110. Any performance difference between the 2?

Ive been reading throught he search function...my head hurts as it all goes off topic lol

Thanks in advance. waiting for responses to make the pruchase.

Hey. I usually top colli 845 with carnauba wax. The colli provides durability while nuba provides glow and gloss. Best combination for me so far :)

From my understanding, its easier to advertise a thin even coat with paste over liquid. You can apply paste by machine. Either knock the pick it off the can and rub it on the pad. Or use the end of the da's wrench and "butter" the pad

I've topped 845 with M26 liquid with good results

Ultimate Paste Wax=UPW

M26=Meguiar's Yellow Carnuba Wax

They both come in liquid and paste and are very effective in my opinion.

I use 845 then top it with optimum car wax.

ok sweet thank you!!. how do you guys feel about the fuzion wax? seems like everyone talks about it but i know its pricey. Is it really that much better then the rest of the waxes out?

oh wow..its like a 175 bucks jesus!!

It's very glossy and very easy to work with. It all depends what you are comfortable paying. Is it 3x better than a $60 wax? Probably not. However, its pretty much perfect IMHO. Its really all you would need LSP wise. You can get endless applications out of 1 jar. I'm guessing 50+ cars. Plus, you get a refill jar free when you use that up.

Prep provides the Pop!

Just curious...
How do you already know that you should be using M105 during your next weekend's prep on your truck?

Layering...
-An additional film-layer of Collinite #845 layered atop itself causes no harm.
-Neither would applying a film-layer of M26, 3M Show Car Wax, Optimum Car Wax, P21S/S100...
Or even Natty Blue, among others.

Paste Wax vs Liquid Wax...
I remember when we used to add some quite-unrefined-solvents to our Simonize Paste Wax so it would spread more easily.
Still a little difficult to remove by hand---the good ol' rotary to the rescue sometimes!!

However...Technology Marches On.
Paste Waxes, their Liquid/Cream/Lotion Wax-counterparts...from the same car-care-products manufacturers
(such as: Meguiar's) are identical in everything except form.

Personal preference now seems to dictate which one an end-user opts for.

Thank you bob!! and the reason why im thinking of starting with the m105 is cuz i know my truck has lots of swirl marks. Im gonna try a panel first. I used the m205 only last time i did a detail (over a year ago) and it looked good for about a month...but alot of the swirls were still there. figured m105 would be the next step and see how it works.

Any other options besides the m105? i tried it on my tailgate...and my lord i couldn't get it off. can't figure out what im doing wrong.

Meg's Ultimate Compound (UC) is an intermediate of
M105 and M205 that you could try.

+1 I would try UC before M105. UC is a joy to use and has plenty of cut depending on paint hardness. If it doesn't work out for you you're not out a bunch of $$$/

Hows a sealant on top of a wax working? Never seen it done that way...

It works great...Some may think that it's "overkill" but with such a small area of paint
on a motorcycle I thought it made sense to do it...plus I had time on my hands to kill...Honestly, the sealant on top of the wax lasted for over 6 months (granted my bike was never left out in the weather).

Ok so I have meg uc in the garage. I'm going to try that. Should I follow it with a m205?
After that I'm thinking cg ez creme. Then I wanna follow that with a good sealant. Not sure what sealant is best or my options. Then top it with the cg, 845. Then a m26 wax or natty blue. Is that a good process Or did I complete confuse my self even more by reading lol. It Seems like I'm doing a lot of layering. Some might be unnecessary but im not sure. Just want the best result I can.
