The customer brought me this vehicle and wanted the paint as good as i could possibly get it!! Once I cleaned, clayed barred and removed any iron from the paint it was time for inspection. This vehicles paint is up there with some of the worst that I have seen. I first began playing with some pad, compound and polishes to see what would work best on this paint. My go to compound and pad is the meguiars micro fiber cutting pad and jescar heavy cut compound. This worked quite well at removing the scratchs and defects from the paint . For the refining stage I started with sonax perfect finish and yellow rupes polishing pad. The yellow rupes pad was leaving minor hazing behind, I then switched to the softer rupes finishing pad and it finished down nicely. For larger areas I used the Rupes mark II. Smaller areas I used the Rupes mini 3 inch. For the tighter spots I used the rotary with extension bar and 2 inch pads . After the whole correction, I then coated the vehicle with 2 coats of kamikaze miyabi coat . Gyeon prep used in between polishing stages and also to prep paint for the coating. I also coated the wheels with qtechniq c5 wheel armor. I was pretty please with the results and the customer was blown away. Done By Luxury Details of Erie PA.
