Final List of Cars for the 2014 Season of My Classic Car

First I'd like to thank everyone that contacted me and offered Autogeek the use of their cars. In some cases the logistics didn't work for the car owner and in some cases I had to make the final decision as to which cars would work best for the segments to be shot next week.

With that said, here's the final list of cars we'll be using for the 2014 season of "My Classic Car" with Dennis Gage.

1967 Pontiac GTO
My buddy Scott Molden sent me the below pictures. Out of a few of them I was able to captures some that showed swirls in the paint. We'll be using this car to show how to remove swirls and also how to use an AIO.

1963 Studebaker Avanti

My friend Matt aka MPBGT an active member of this forum is going to let us use his black 1963 Studebaker Avanti. We'll be how to use the Blackfire line of compounds, polishes and waxes to remove swirls and create a show car finish as well as how to clean and polish glass.

This is Matt's Avanti

I was told that out of these 4 cars this is the one Dennis likes the most.

These pictures are not of the above car but a few I snagged off the Internet just to give everyone a better idea of what a 1963 Studebaker Avanti looks like...

The next car is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air that belongs to Mike aka Pokey1 on this forum.

We'll be sharing tips for cleaning wheels, drying cars, how to use a waterless wash and how to hand apply finishing waxes on Mike's beautiful 1955 Chevy...

This next car is a true show truck... it's a 1955 Ford F100 with a Candy Brandywine sprayed over a Gold Base.

We'll be showcasing Flex polishers and specifically the Flex 3401 plus something not ready for prime time.

That is one handsome line up.Look forward to the new episodes.:buffing:

Nice list of beauties you have there Mike.

Dont know much about the Studebaker.

Thanks Mike...

I don't know much about Studebakers either... I like hotrodded Studebaker coupes from the late 1930's and the early 1940's as they have a really cool look to them.

One thing for sure... I can't thank Scott, Garvin, Matt, Mike, and Walter enough for their generosity in taking time from their work and lives to help us to have some great looking cars on the show.

Thanks guys!

The Goat is a great car, ofcoarse but the Stude is very unique and always get my attenntion at carshows, in the sea of 69' Camaro's and 57' Chevy's they really stand out. Come to think of it, almost all the Studes had unique styling, too bad they didn't stick around longer!

I just pulled the Avanti out of the garage yesterday. Like most of the threads state on here a lot of times show cars don't have perfect paint. It's hard to keep on the paint with all the little mechanical tinkering that can be done.
A little History on the Avanti
-The Avanti was designed by Raymond Lowey- Famous industrial designer who designed the Coke Bottle, Shell Gasoline logo, Post office Logo and Lucky Strike Cigarette package, Air Force 1, Zippo Lighter to name a few
-It was the First Mass produced 4 seat fiberglass car
-63 and 64 were made by Studebaker, but specialty builders kept it in production into the 80's with a few reincarnations in the 90's and early 2000's
-James Bond Author Ian Fleming Drove a Black 1963 Avanti
- In the 60's Avanti's broke 29 Bonneville Land Speed Records

That is one absolutely gorgeous color!!

I'll be taking my new trusty and not quite too dusty Canon T5i Rebel with me and take a few pictures of this truck and all the car.

This truck has a tilt front-end too...

:)

Just a shout out to my friend Neil for offering us his incredible 1967 Buick Grand Sport...

I left you a voice mail and also sent you an e-mail to say thank you and also that a bunch of us will be going to the Green Hornet after we're done on Thursday. If you can make it I'd like to meet you.

***Update***

Max and I will be leaving for Evansville, Indiana first thing in the morning and returning back to Stuart late Friday afternoon.

I won't be able to monitor or post to the forum much while I'm on the road or answer e-mails and PM's.

I will try to share some behind the scenes pictures in the evening on the forum and a few pictures when I can to my facebook page using my iPhone...

***Landed Safely***

Well we made it without any problems knock on wood...

It's a little colder here than in sunny Stuart, Florida but not bad...
