Finally Pulling the trigger

YEs I'm a newbie and know how it feels to be a "veteran" and seeing newbies post, but all of us were one at one point in time. So please bear with me!

After I saw one of my friends takes his rotarty to my new harley (its black) and already had some small swirls. So I wanted to take care of them before they got any worst. After seeing how easy it is, I'm pulling the trigger to get my own products. Seems it just takes a eye and patience for it. This is what I have on my "list" so far. I know that swirl removers are polishes or can be atleast. I know I want to do polish/ swirl remover, Glaze, Sealant, Wax. I got the 3 differen color towls to know which one I use for buffing, cleaning, ect.

For pads Can I get 1 blue pad and use ploish, sealant, glaze, wax on this? Or would I have to clean it before going to the next step?

The way some products are named it can get confusing, so if I basically have the same product (example Professional polish and polish with carnauba) Please tell me!

I want to use a sealant and the na carnauba wax on top to get the best of both worlds.. This is why I have all of the same brand name, I assume they wouldnt have any problem bonding on top of each other.

Swirl Remover: SSR1 and SSR2 (just in case)
Polish: Professional Polish
Sealant:Ex-p pure seal
Wax: Pinnacle Liquid souveran was (for my stuff) I would like to fine another wax that is just as good and less than souveran. I saw the souveran used on a car and its freaken awesome!!
  • Can the polish with carnauba be used as a wax and laid on top of Ex-pure seal?
Can any prodcut last up to a year?

I wouldn't recomment using the same pad for applying all of those products even if it was cleaned in between. The poorboys polishes (not the swirl removers) contain chemical cleaners, they will leave the paint clean and ready for a sealant and/or wax but the residue on the pad even after cleaning might not play nice with the sealant and wax. I'd suggest applying the sealant and wax by hand anyway though.

Also, because of the paint cleaners, I don't think you can use the polish after the sealant as it will most likely remove the sealant in the process. Best to use the true polishes (swirl removers), then the cleaner, then sealant, then wax.

As far as lasting a year... There are some products that claim this type of longevity but I wouldn't go that long. Maybe, Klasse SG if it spent most of the year in the garage.

What other liquid wax will bond to poor boys EX-pure seal? Poor Boys is one of the Top Brands correct? Lastley do they dust at all like optimal does?

Basically get a pad for each application and put it in bag and label it for what product it is used for?

Whats the polish with carnauba used for? Basically to allow people to make short cuts but still giving SOME protection?

Yes, SSR1 (or 2 if needed), then Professional Polish (if needed - there's been a few threads discussing the pros and cons of paint cleaners before and after polishing - just do a search to read them), then sealant, then wax.

Any wax should be be fine over the sealant. Hard to beat Souveran though.

Yes... Personally, I don't keep a seperate pad for EVERY product, but at least for every product TYPE. I don't use a pad with a cleaner and for applying LSPs. But again, applying sealants and waxes by hand is what I prefer.

Yes, it and other all-in-one products will try to combine 2 or more steps into one to save time and money (some are chemical cleaners + protection KAIO, some have cleaners, abrasives, and protection XMT 360). You could use polish w/carnauba and top with a wax for added protection.

I wouldnt use the rotary to apply any LSP. Those large pads will be harder to control for a new rotary user.
 
last step process. Wax, sealant, or synthetic wax.
