Finish kare 1000

For best results...{keeping in mind
that FK1000P is a Sealant}...give it
a day (or two) for it to "fully cure"
before exposing it to any moisture.
Bob

Excuse me for sounding stoopid..... but, looking up information on the FK1000P it says "paste wax" and no where is it mentioned it's a sealant. Now maybe a long lasting wax is considered a sealant..... I dunno.... just trying to keep my thinking straight (if possible).

•FK1000P is formulated from
synthetic/man-made ingredients.
-This, IMO, is the preeminent
definition of an LSP that belongs
in the Sealant category.

Ok, so a synthetic (man-made) wax is considered a sealant and not a wax?
So, what would a product be called if it has natural and man-made ingredients.... Certainly it's a hybrid, but is a wax or sealant or something else?
Just trying to keep all this stuff straight.😃

Oh no.... Not about to read all that stuff, my question is too simple.

From one of the above Mike Phillips articles:

Hybrids
"There's one more group into which
waxes and sealant fall into and that would
be the hybrid category.

Hybrids contain a combination of both
natural and synthetic ingredients.

If we use the loose definition above for
car waxes and paint sealants,
(For the wax group the primary protection
ingredients are naturally occurring
waxy substances
and for the sealant
group the primary protection ingredients
are man-made or synthetic substances),

then since hybrid products use a
combination of both
it would seem
natural to group them and place them into
their own category with both words,
wax and sealant used to describe the category."

Ok..... Lots of effort on your part to prove a point.... I just wondered how far you would go just to be 'right'.
However, the bottom line is this product states it is a wax and nothing about being a sealant.
Thank you, Bob for proving my point.

Or maybe he was being helpful by just answering someone's questions

Basically, because there is no universally accepted definitions of what's a "wax"....

Pretty safe to say if it comes in a tub and is a paste - most manufacturers will call it a "wax". Sorta like how everyone calls blue window cleaner "Windex" - regardless if it is or not.

But the point is, if some paste sealant has 0.001% carnauba in it - does that suddenly make it "wax" or a hybrid?

It's like those alcohol-free beers that have like 0.02% alcohol.

And duragloss is a polish, not a sealant, and most sealants call themselves synthetic wax or acrylic wax.........
