Finish Kare 425


Ok, I couldn't help myself. I just went out and used UWWP to wash the hood of my car.


Findings:
  • UWWP as always is a great cleaner. It is my WW of choice.
  • I did a final wipe down with a clean towel and UWWP on one half and FK425 on the other.
  • UWWP is slick and if was all I had I would be happy with it.
  • FK425 was slightly slicker to my touch. So for me as long as I have it I will use it.
  • I didn't notice and difference in the "look" between the two side by side.
  • UWWP will win if you base your decision on price.

I also use both FK425 and Ultima WW and like them both a lot. FK425 has always worked well for me as a drying aid and as a QD on a clean car. The Ultima is my favorite waterless wash and I agree it is cost effective; DP is not that bad either. For me each serves a different purpose.

BTW, I have never had a problem with streaking on FK425. My technique is the two microfiber method; work it in with one and buff with a second one before it dries. I have the best results with really absorbent microfibers, like the Cobra green or blue rolled edge ones.

FK425 is a dedicated QD that excels for me as a drying aid. I lacks the cleaning ability of UWWP but the gloss and slickness it leaves behind are much better IMO.

I agree - UWW+ is my preferred cleaning QD/waterless wash, but I don't think it leaves as slick or glossy a surface as FK425 or OID.
 
I am sold on FK 425.....always wanted to try it...

Troy, thanks for doing that! I absolutely trust your judgement. One other thing FK excels at is for cleaning mirrors in the house. Gets rid of seemingly stuck-on dust and makes them brilliant. It's better than UWW on mirrors for sure. AW is pretty good on mirrors too.

Not a problem Richy. You actually got me interested in doing a side by side and I had the time to do it.

I never thought of using AW on mirrors. I'll have to try it.

On a side note. I use FK425 to clean my flat screen TV. It works wonders...
 
Does anyone use other products from Finish Kare? How about shampoo or wax?

Thanks for the tip Richy. I will have to give FK425 and AW a try on my mirrors this weekend :)
 
Mirrors in the house. I thought you guys were punking me. But seems like it works really well. Hit the flat screen also, nice! Waiting to see if its Mrs. Finemess approved.
 
Just tried it on the mirrors in my bathrooms. Awesome stuff. Looks great on my marble counter tops as well. I can't wait to try some AW now :)
