Has anyone tried this? I'm so impressed with their 425 QD I'm wondering about this stuff.

Try the other wax , 1000K as it lasts longer and looks nice too.

The pink paste is a carnauba/polymer hybrid wax. FK1000P is a 100% synthetic sealant.

Pink will have *slightly* less gloss than 1000P, but much more depth. However, 1000P will ptotect better and longer durability.

1000P= more reflective

Pink= more deep

Metaillic paint, I'd definitely go 1000P

Solid Colors, I'd go with Pink.

i love the look of pink on my blue car but it doesn't last that long, about four weeks or so. fk1 usa used to recommend something like 215 then 2180 followed by pink wax. pink is noticeably deeper on solid colors than 1000p.

I'm using 1000p (3 coats) followed by 3 coats of the Finish Kare 2685 Pink Paste Wax. The result is a very liquid/wet deep looking finish that still has good reflectivity.

Am I reading this correctly? Six coats of wax and sealant ???????????????

Yes you are.
@Houckster:

FinishKare's Pink Wax ("2685") is a real good wax.

However...
Beauty Shine's Pink Carnuba Paste Wax ("502") is far better when it comes to 'layering' pink-waxes, IMO.
In fact: It is said to be specially formulated for the "spit-shine method".
Ever try that method? Talk about a very liquid/wet deep looking finish that still has good reflectivity...:wow:

:)

A couple of years ago, we visited Battleship Cove to see the old USS Massachusetts battleship. Over the years, I've accumulated enough wax to "spit shine" it. I have three cans of the 2685 alone so I think it's gonna be a while before I buy any more wax but thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for sharing your sight-seeing adventures! :props:

But are you really positive that your current method of layering your choice of a:
"Pink Wax"...will create any additional wax-film-builds?

Being positive about anything is a luxury I've seldom experienced. All I can say is that what I'm doing now has produced a result I'm satisfied with. Maybe Beauty Shine's Pink Carnauba Paste Wax is better, I don't know. Right now, I'm just not in a mood to buy more wax because I've got so much of it already. I will keep your suggestion in mind.

Back when you had to order from the FK-1 website I got a sample of pink with an order. I found it no better or worse than any other wax I had used previously. Nothing special with average durability about sums it up.... I gave it away.

I sent the following e-mail to Finish Kare. The response follows each of my comments:

I have purchased Finish Kare 1000p paste wax (which I hear is really a sealant) as well as some 2685 paste wax. I think my money was very well spent but unfortunately, the nitty gritty of getting the best result from these products is difficult. Sadly, the website isn’t very enlightening. Hopefully you can help.

What is the minimum time interval that is required for 1000p to be stable enough so that it isn’t impacted by the next coat of 1000p. I’ve been waiting 24 hours between layers but that’s only a guess. THAT IS FINE. IF YOU ARE IN COLD CLIMATE THEN I WOULD RECOMMEND WAITING 48 TO 72 HOURS.

I pose the same question for 2685. #2685 IS NOT THAT REACTIVE, SO 24 HOURS IS FINE.

Sometimes I apply by hand and sometimes I use an orbital polisher with a finishing pad. Does this make a difference? ORBITAL POLISHER WILL GIVE YOU BETTER RESULTS.

My conclusion: I did everything just about right. Higher temperatures speed the curing of 1000p and 2685 is less critical so that 24 hrs is probably fine regardless of temperature. Most importantly, Finish Kare does acknowledge the ability to layer both products.

I've used both and I thought FK had much more gloss and a bit more depth. Neither is a bad pick though.
