I saw this nozzle long ago but didn't want to spend the money on it knowing I could buy a nozzle for 7$. Well after spending more then 20$ on the cheaper nozzles that regularly fell apart over the course of about 18 months I saw this thread (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/28470-fire-hose-nozzle.html) from Ron. So with my last order I threw this in along with some quality quick shutoff and snap ons to replace the ones I had.

This is by far the best 20$ I've spent this year. It's one of those things that after using it for just a few minutes you get so attached you wish you could carry it with you. The power of the spray is great! I feel like I'm almost using a pressure washer when I adjust it to a strong water jet stream. Seems to be very high quality and I don't think I'll be spending any more money on nozzles for many years. Take a look at the picture below. I can set it on the bucket like that and the nozzle carries enough weight that the twisted hose does not pull it off.

I've been thinking about buying one for years now, but I could just never bring myself to spending the $20 for a nozzle, like you said.
 
Sorry for been off topic.... BUt what is that brass pice?? Is that from a foam gun???
 
If it doesn't have a screen filter at the cinnection, make sure you put one in to save from taking it apart to clean it or having to soak it in CLR.
 
I picked up one of the more expensive fire hose nozzles but did not get the pressure I was wanting like I got from a nozzle sprayer....I was getting plenty of flow though.
 
got a griots garage firehose nozzel from wife as gift 15 years ago and still going strong. expensive as hell though

That's just a shutoff ball added so that you don't have to keep twisting the nozzle every time you want to shut the water off.

I bought one of these a few years ago and what I found is it needs decent water pressure to work as designed.

I have well water and my pump supplies water between 30psi and 50psi. While the nozzle works "pretty well" at the to end of the pressure when it drops to near 30psi it much less powerful.

A friend has one with city water and he must be pushing 70psi all the time and man what a beautiful and powerful stream at all adjustments.
 
there are alot of these nozzles on the market, some good and some not so good. I too find pressure to be the biggest component in getting satisfaction from this type of nozzle.

I too would love the Griots version, but that price is just too much even with the lifetime warranty. Till then a foam gun and shower wand seem to be all I need, well along with a quick connect or two.

Been thinking about getting one, but the water pressure here isn't that great. The nozzle I have is OK, but only because of the forum tip to use a QD and shut off valve for the kink-resistant (not nearly enough imo) hose.
 
I got the Bon Air from Amazon. It is machined aluminum and is routinely dropped on the driveway. I had a Gilmour shutoff but the knob fell off. I replaced it with a brass made by DRAM and sold on Amazon for ~ $22. The build quality of this piece is superb! I also bought a new disconnect by Nelson on Amazon. It is nicer by far than the Gilmour . It is all brass and very heavy duty. I bought a 100 foot 3/4 inch Gilmour hose too, All combinned to give me much more flow and easy control from the shut off valve. Highly recommend all of the above!
 
i have a handful of firehose nozzles both large and small, but find myself using the smaller ones more often these days. AG carries carrand products and adding a few of these wouldn't hurt...

Ironically I was washing the Firebird today and noticed I have 6 different nozzles (all broken) laying around in the garage.. this is definitely in the lineup for spring.

You're right, it's not his fault that he writes tremendous reviews that just make you want to go out and spend your money, it's Autogeek's fault for carrying such a diverse line of detailing supplies!

I have been using the fire hose nozzle for the past few months and love it. I have about 65psi at the tap, and I get a very nice strong stream
