first attempt at detail... did NOT go well

This is after V32 and the orange microfiber pad you can see there's no correction.

This is after V32 and an orange foam pad, this is after I wiped away all the polish, you can see what it did to the paint.

This is the same spot as the previous picture after M205 and a white foam pad.

This was a different spot I tried with Ultimate Compound and a meguairs red foam pad, and then M205 and the white foam pad.

Have you tried using Late county or Hex logic pads? Have you used a polisher after the cutting compound?

Hex logic pads foam on my GG 6" DA polisher. Best performance so far has been M205 as a one step, seems like anything stronger and I either get no correction or bad marring and hazing.

Ordered some FG400 and also the M105 will hopefully be able to try those later this week with better results.

The OP came to my shop yesterday and we were able to find out that the Rogue actually has incredibly soft paint. Removing most polishing residues would mar the paint again with even the most plush of towels. We were able to fix this, however, with some HD Cut on an orange pad/Microfiber cutting pad (left a haze) and HD Polish on a white pad.

We only polished the back door so that we could find a combination that worked well for the OP. He will be polishing the rest of the vehicle after he has some hail damage repaired.

Hopefully he will post some pictures soon

Haha I dont even remember you taking that picture!

Yeah great results with HD cut and HD polish, just have to get the hail damage I have repaired on June 3rd and then hopefully be able to finish the rest of the car.

im pretty sure you were polishing the drivers side bumper when I took this picture, because this was the first spot that i polished

Did you try HD Adapt on the Rogue? I have a Murano with similar soft paint that I've been maintaining with HD Polish, but I have some scratches that the polish can't correct. I wanted to try something a little more aggressive, and considered Adapt since I've had such good luck with the HD Polish.

I have not tried hd adapt yet. Sorry. The hd cut did a decent job of removing about 90% of the deeper scratches. Im pretty sure that in order to remove the rest we wouldve had to wet sand.

Yeah the dealer did quite a number to my paint. HD cut worked really well at removing a lot of the damage.
