Hello all,

I'm sure you guys have noticed me asking questions on this forum for the past few weeks as I gathered info for my first correction of my 2003 black Subaru WRX. I would like to thank everyone for the helpful responses and advice (Especially Bill-LegacyGT and Corey-Ceedog)! I did a full detail on my WRX yesterday as follows:

~Wash w/ Duragloss 901
~Carpro Iron X
~Ultrafine Claybar
~Polish (1 step) w/ Menzerna Powerfinish/tangerine hydrotech pads/PC7424XP
~Griots Pre-Wax Cleanser
~Wash again (I had good bit of residue left over from the Powerfinish)
~2 coats Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant (I almost did CQuartz)
~Trim with 1z Einszett Vinyl & Rubber Care and Protectant
~Windows w/ glass scrub & spraywax
~Tires w/ PERL

I am sorry for the quality of the pics as they were taken from my cell phone. My camera is out of commission for right now. Hopefully these pictures can give you guys a rough idea of how my car came out. Also, unfortunately I did not take any before pics. My car had only been polished once previously (by a professional shop). I wash my car almost every week and I had moderate swirling (nothing too bad though).

To sum it up I would like to thank Autogeek for their excellent selection of products and low prices and thank this forum for all the help! My car came out wonderful. The blue and red flakes in the paint really pop now. Also, after the claybar treatment you could skate on my paint!!

looks good

curious why you used the GG pre wax cleanser and then washed.

I also don't get a lot of dusting with PF. How many passes did you do?

I used too much of the Powerfinish at one point and my pad hit a wash wet spot on the lower panel so it kinda smeared the polish on one section. Also, Powerfinish did seem to dust a good bit on me. The pre-wax was not cutting it for the part I smeared. Plus I wanted to get all the dust off. I made between 4 to 6 passes depending on the section.

Corey,

Thank you for the help with the CQuartz! I got a little hesitant though and did decide to go with the WGDGPS which I already had. I was kinda getting low on money as well.

One more pic showing the flakes of color in my black paint.

Awesome! I am on cell phone so can't see photos well but after work I cant wait to get back to this thread.

From what I can see it looks pretty good. I love the pearl shot.

Nice job!
