Finally came the day that I got to use my new PC. Got it for Christmas this year and it hasn't even seen daylight yet. I felt bad, so I wanted to correct the wife's TBSS. It was trashed. Swirls, scratches, deep RIDS, paint pen fillings, etc. And who knows what the dealership did to it prior to use picking it up. I have about 11 hours in it not including wash, claying and taping. 11 hours of compounding, polishing, and sealing. Wow, I'm spent. My hats off to you all who do this every day.

As a novice, I didn't expect perfection. I was going for about 80% correction and feel like I received that and more. The roof was not 2-stepped and the hatch area was left untouched for now. I didn't want to do it by hand and I did not have anything smaller than my 5.5" pads that I was using. I since have purchased some 3" pads to finish it along with future cars I will do.

Products used:
Wash - CG Citrus Wash/Gloss
Compound - Megs MF system (1st step only)
Polish - Megs M205+W9006
Sealant - Megs M21

I will be replacing the M21 with CG BlackLight+V7 in the future. The M21 looks okay and beads great. But as soon as the durability decreases I will be trying out the BL/V7 combo. Onto the few pictures I did take, as I did this from 10pm-whenever it was that I quit. With an 11 month old, you find time to do your projects one way or another!!

Claying the roof. This 'was' a brand new clay bar.

After claying, a few sun shots to really reveal the finish. You can actually see some of the blotchy paint pen fillings.

My floor fluorescent. I did everything I could to get good lighting. My future garage will be filled with different types of lighting and colors.

Test panel. This is compound only, Megs MF 1st step.

Test panel again. After M205+W9006.

Passenger side complete. Much better reflection and clarity.

Unfortunately, I was low on time and put my head down and kept at it. "No time for pictures" I kept telling myself. So a few reflection shots.

Hood.

Driver door.

Final sun shot, after sealant was applied. Passenger rear door.

This correction process was a lot of work, but so much fun. Watching what a little time and patience will get you. Can't wait to do my next one!!!

Thanks! Have a coworker wanting his black '99 Vette done now. Maybe ill get more pictures with that job.

That driver door reflection is amazing! Now you just have to maintain that swirl free finish.
