First day using Bilt Hamber touchless.

 I'm such a dunce. Just finished a complete wash and sitting here looking at my phone, looks like another storm tomorrow ....

CI. Do you prefer Touchless or AF or just Touchless since no HP needed.
I have both - haven't used either yet,

Six one way, half a dozen the other. I haven’t noticed any discernible difference in cleaning power. The only reason I need to get my hands on some Touchless is that it’s 100% biodegradable and I try to be as ecologically friendly as possible.

I have to go check my BH jugs thoroughly but it doesn't matter. I'm going to rebottle it all

I grabbed a Jug today to make up some BH mix for my pending no touchless wash/ rinse. I expect film and such but the car will be dirty right after it's clean - it's just a thorough rinse off application. No mechanical wash .

The HANDLE on the BH jugs...cheap as ##$@. I didn't realize it until today, when I grabbed it, and it started to sway Side-2-Side. And then I noticed how the handle is constructed relative to the jug design...
I probably will be dumping the product/products in a Juice container that has overall better construction

Those handles ARE cheap, I have a gallon pump in mine

I'm not a fan of dispensers. In my head, I kinda think it leads to product dissipating (similar to how some polishes will be dried out after a period of time). I tend to prefer to keep my stuff mainly capped - and for stuff I don' intend to use in like 2 months later, I turn the sprayer head to off (on theory sealing it).

Yes, I know the pump dispensers can close by pressing then turning/locking it. Done it maybe in my earlier heydays of detailing but I'm too lazy for that as I would need to align that with also dispensing product for usage when I press/turn to close the dispenser

Agreed...it does drip when done

...........Putting on my thinking cap. Especially since the car, while salty, is dry. Less inert than the salt being wet.

BH or in general, any pre rinse is best applied on a dirty surface.

In my mind, if I'm going to wet the surface, I want to get as much off as fast as possible when it's wet....
So help me pick my poison. 5 minute dwell applied on a Dry Surface .....or HP Pre Rinse heavy as I do want to get the salt off as much as possible if I'm going to add liquid to that salt before I do the BH Pre Rinse Soak (semi diluted due to wet panels at this point). Expected less cling time as well due to wet panels...

I always foam/dwell before going into the touch-free, let that soap do ALL the work, it's always worked for me

I also know that there will be some traffic film towards the bottom, knowing a contact wash is the ONLY way to remove that last 10% but on my car, because of its color, looks very clean afterwards

Has anyone used KC Multistar as a comparison to currently now my top shelf BH as a pre rinse

In retrospect, I should have tried Touchless, blow dry and see how much salt film it left behind adhered on panels

I was pressed for time squeezing in a wash, so I just went all in...without compare/contrast in mind. Bilt Pre, Rinse, Full Foam, Full contact Wash, dry, etc....

Next time, I'll skip the mechanical wash to see how much or how --little-- BH leaves behind.

ready to re up my IK foam pro 12 w/1.5 gallons. I can't recall what I did and since Clean garage took it off there site it's just crazy to compute. I'm guessing 6 oz.?
I find it hilarious I'm asking on this post since I am the OP:D
I just went with 8 to 1.5 gallons. Think that was what I did last time.

Here’s a thread I started in 2019 on Autopia. Was looking for a touchless wash and nothing foamed on sprayed off in the US at the time cleaned like what I had been seeing from the UK from BH.

Bought Auto Foam (Touchless wasn’t a thing). If you scroll down to post 35 you will see the great results I got with just a foam, dwell and rinse. It’s the Camaro (white) so you can see how great the results were.

Bilt Hamber Auto foam... the best?

That’s heavy. The recommend a 4% PIR or 4oz to 96oz.

Your case should be 6oz to 144oz. Shouldn’t really need to go stronger will hurt LSP. If anything try a little weaker. I like 5:145 in IK12

I have a half of a gallon to play with still and I'm doing a Sprinter van in 6 hours and it has zero LSP so I'll just go with it and then top off with a half of a gallon. Thanks Pal!
