This is my first attempt at detailing the exterior of my 2009 Acura TL. Admittedly, I did not have to do any major polishing or correcting work here. In fact, except for washing, it was all done by hand in my apartment parking lot. Anyways, it was still quite a lot of effort to do it by hand, and I am worn out! I hope you guys like it. Please give me any feedback/comments you have.

Products used:
  • Local carwash (the type where you spray it yourself)
  • DP Universal Detailing Clay
  • DP Universal Clay Lubricant
  • Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer
  • Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0
  • Mothers All Wheel and Tire Cleaner
  • DP Gloss Tire Gel
  • Stoner Invisible Glass Cleaner
  • Cobra MF Towels

Tomorrow I also plan to top off the WGDGPS with some Souveran Paste Wax.

Sorry, no before and after shots, but honestly it looked pretty decent even before the WG treatment.

I'd say that's a job to be very proud of. Add a layer or too of Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax and watch the shine just pop....:xyxthumbs:

Nice work. What do you think about the new styling of the TL's compared to the old ones. One of my buddies bought an A6 instead of trading up to the new TL because he didn't care for the new styling.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I did apply the Souveran this morning, and I think it came out pretty nice. The shine is really great. One thing is that I don't notice quite the same deep 3D effect that I get on my girlfriend's dark blue car. I remember reading another thread about having a tough time with medium gray paint color, but I can't find it now. Is there another LSP I could try that might look better on this color?

While I do prefer the older style, too, I think this car still looks great. Usually you hear most people are turned off by the new "shield"/"beak" grill. If you see it on the RDX or MDX, though, it does not look quite as imposing as it does on the sedans. As for the interior, it is amazing. My only complaint there is that the light colored doors and carpet are difficult to keep clean. I am constantly scrubbing shoe prints off the door and kick plate. On any of the 2010s I looked at they had black doors and carpet, so I suspect they made that change based on the cleanliness factor.

I wouldn't use Souveran on metallic paint. It's more geared for non-metallic paint(black, red, yellow). Pinnacle Signature Series II would look great on the meduim gray metallic, IMO. It really makes metallic flakes pop!

Looks great, thanks for sharing your detail!
