I wanted to show everyone the results of my first REAL detail job ever. I grew up washing cars with my father ever since I was little. That said, we never really got into detailing like I have learned how to do over the past few weeks visiting forums like this and getting help and advice.

Here are the results using the following procedure:

Wash
Claying
Wash
Klasse AIO
Topped off with P21S Carnauba Wax

Wow....I never knew Honda installed mirrors on there vehicles? Aren't they supposed to go inside the vehicle? hahahaha just teasing.

You did a wicked job detailing your vehicle, very nice. So wet and such depth, very nice...good job.

Oh yea by the way that is one fine looking house you got there.

Looks great! I can't find anything that I would change!! How long did it take you? Did you do the interior? Care to say how much you charged? Awesome work

It took me probably a total of 6 hours all together, although I am sure I will cut that number down the next time I do this. Here is what I did, and approximately how long it took me:

Wash (30 minutes)
Claying (1 hour)
Wash Again (30 minutes)
Klasse All-In-One (2 hours)
Topped off with P21S Carnauba Wax (2 hours)


I can definitely cut the amount of time it takes to clay a car in half down to 30 minutes. This was my first time to clay, and I took way too long. I also found out that you don't have to wash the car again before you go on to your next step.

I also spent way too much time, and product for that matter, with the Klasse All-In-One and the P21S Carnauba Wax. Typical newb mistake, I put way too much product on and had to buff and buff as well as reapply in spots. When people tell you not to use a lot of product because it will go a long way, believe them! If you don't, you will be buffing forever like me, lol.

The pictures are of my car, and I do not charge for car detailing or own a business. This was my first time actually. I also didn't detail the inside of the car as it didn't need it being a new car. I did the usual, vacuum, wiping down interior, glass, etc.

I do plan on taking it to the next level by purchasing a Porter Cable this week. You can see in one of the pictures, a Toyota Celica in the garage. That is our third car and my wife's love of her life. She hardly ever drives it, but will never get rid of it. That said, it just sits in the garage and collects dust, and is not in very good condition at all on the exterior or interior. The car also has some minor hail damage that we never had fixed due to the cost and the car being a '97 Celica.

All that being said, I am going to test out my new PC and skills on her car to see what I can do with it. I fully plan on posting a lot of Before pictures, and then updating later with the After pictures.

Once I hopefully master the PC on her car and get comfortable with it, I will use it on my car the next time I do a full detail. I can't wait!

great job...definitely get comfortable with the pc and you will see even better results...the results you have look great but the pc with the right polishes will amaze you...you have great gloss and shine...the pc will add much more depth to what you already have...when i saw the 2 hours for aio and p21s first thing that shot to my mind without reading on was "he put that stuff on waaay to thick" :) but i can see you learned from your mistake...less is more with lsp's....

Great work, that black is beautiful. P21s is a great wax for the price. :applause:
 
Looks good. You might want to pick up soemthing that excells on darks like Natty's Blue or Souveran, those two make black look insanely deep, wet and dark. P21 is good, but has a clear look that isn't as deep/wet as others, I had S100 (same) but sold it.

Using the PC will prep the paint even more, so even if you use P21 again you'll see a noticeable difference. Its the prep that counts most.

Derail time, can't help it. What is it with some states (mostly it's regional IMO) with the dealers putting some God-awful badge from their dealership on the cars they sell? I would insist if I ever had to do business with one that it is never installed or removed without a blemish while I watch. Some go as far as to drill holes and pop rivet the damn things on. It should be criminal!!!! just say NOOOOOOO to dealer advertising, that's what a license plate frame can be used for (and promptly thrown away).

Sorry, it just ruins a beautiful job seeing that texas dealer badge there. Oh my, I hope the dealer put that there and not a proud Texan!
