First FULL exterior detail of my 13 Civic

I dont get it, guys...why so critical and suspicious of my detailer?? My goal going in was for him to remove all the light scratches and minor swirls from sloppy dealer prep and he accomplished that. ALL the scratches and swirls are gone, and he applied Blackfire polish sealant
and my Civic looks amazing smooth as glass, mirror finish and not a single paint flaw, at least that I can observe. Im sure there are some flaws, its a $19,000 Civic, I dont expect perfection.
I would bet 99% of Civic owners would be absolutely overjoyed with the
results. I mean come on guys, its a Honda Civic, not a Bugatti!

Anyway, I just took a bunch of pictures this morning, but I am not sure how to post them here. Can anyone help me out?

I think what people are saying is that is a short amount of time to perform that service. Personally, when I do an exterior detail, it takes me 3 hours just for the full decon wash, iron-x/tar-x, and clay (including full wheel and tire cleaning). A 1-step polish would be 2-3 hours. Sealant about 2 hours including the haze time. So that is 7-8 hours for me personally. I may be a little slow, but I am OCD when working paint.

Most of my 1 steps take anywhere from 6-10 hrs depends on car size. My prices start start at $275 and I think everyone just thinks its way to cheap.

the link says 3 steps start at $225

For a light polish 4hs seems almost good to me , he did a quick wash , skipped a bit on the claying work and probably left the sealant for a few mins

if client its happy i dont see a problem. like mike says , match your service to the client and not to you

I recently got hit from the back and took my car to get fixed. They asked my if i wanted the car detailed so I asked what did it involve in the detail? he tells me compound and polish with machine ONLY. I said ok how much? he said $200 flat. I said no thanks I will do it myself. So if you got all that for 180 its a good deal

Well, for $180.00, to my eyes, my Civic looks amazing...mirror finish and
smooth and slippery as can be.It sure looks like the nicest Civic in my area, and they are TONS of them here in Central NJ! No other Civic I see has a mirror shine
like mine.

OP, now that your brand new car is detailed its time to maintain it yourself, trust me, that soft black Honda paint is really easy to keep looking good, by hand mind you. Your on a site w/ a lot of helpful people and a mega-ton on knowledge. A simple rinsless wash once a week, along with a coat of that very same BF product once a month will keep things in check. There are other inexpensive products to use like Duragloss and Collinite that will keep that Honda lookin' sharp!

Congrats on finding a detailer that you can trust and end results that are pleasing. Maybe you can email a mod to get your pics up. If not then shoot me a pm and I'll send you my email and upload them to your thread.

Im amazed at the amount of negativity of this thread lol! This gentleman found a detailer that met his expectations and then some with an apparently great price at that! We have to not only factor in where the detailing took place geometrically, but also the detailers work ethic, plus his technique and speed. While no pics have been shown, does that really matter because the end result is a client that has posted nothing but happy results on a forum full of spectics! He himself must be anal to be on this forum, so for himself to show props must make this detailer a pretty good pick. How many of us first starting out wouldn't have charged 180 for a full exterior detail?!??!?! I know I charged way less than that with much better results than many create. I may now charge 700 plus for a paint correction, but back in the day to get noticed I would certainly charge what this man charged, and produce top notch results at that. I very well believe this AGian received great results at a great price. :dblthumb2:

Well, I took a bunch of great pictures right after the detail that I have
ready to go and post, but I just cant figure out how to attached them to
this thread. This forum for pictures doesnt seem very user friendly. If someone
here would be nice enough to assist me, I can post the pictures!

Upload the pictures to an album on here. From there you can copy the image URL into the photo insert option when you post a reply. That's how do it anyway. It's weird at first but eventually you'll get the hang of it.

i wouldnt really call it negativity, i the only reason many people including myself doubted the work was because no pictures were posted. I mean if he posted pictures of his car and you can clearly see that the swirls were removed n all that stuff, then thats great. But like i said, pictures do the talking here.

Unbelievable! Again, I ask why on earth would I lie about my detail here?? When I said
I had VERY light swirls, they actually were more like VERY fine spider webbing, but spaced
out and not tight like swirling, if that makes any sense. The pictures I have taken will
not be able to see this since it was so slight and really ONLY noticeable to myself and
professional detailers. 99% of people would look at the detail and say its amazing.

I am working with someone here to assist me in posting the pictures and hopefully I should have
them up later tonight.

Rule #1 of online forums... don't let other people get you worked up... it's just not worth the efforts to explain things to some people.

Glad to hear you got your car looking the way it should and for a great price! Hope you stick around the forum and continue to learn about new products and processes to help you maintain your vehicle for many years to come!

180 doesnt mean the work is bad. The guy probably works very hard to build his business. I used to charge 200 for the same thing when I first started and people were more than happy to send me more business. Some of you are way too critical :nomore:

Why the overreaction? I simply said that this thread needs pictures. THATS IT. You would never have gotten any "doubts" on here in the first place, if you simply put a picture up.

Am i the only one here that thinks this? I mean hell if i said someone washed my car for 10 bucks perfectly im pretty sure id need some photos to back it up. Its the internet. I cant see what you saw with your eyes...

I think we would hope you would be truthful in your postings, and if you did in fact get a flawless car wash for $10 we would also hope that you shared the location of said car wash so we could all enjoy their inexpensive services :)
