Good to hear because the paint looks beautiful and I wouldn't want you to accidentally ruin it trying to make it better. :props:

Actually I've been hooked decades ago but never had a place i could do this for myself or at this level. By hand? Ha, never again.

I may be crazy, but i like to think I'm not stupid :D The paint on the F150 is plenty good enough for a year round driver. The STi was actually making me a little depressed every time I looked at it. I tried to do a little by hand on the hood but couldn't justify the time value. But the videos and forums helped me take the plunge, and I am very pleased with my purchase!

There is still a learning curve going on here, but i would say this is my official first try at swirl remover/paint correction with the PC i used Severe swirl remover w/green pad twice before moving on to the swirl/haze remover with orange pad polish white pad sealant grey pad ran out of time for red/ wax...

Ok, I hope I'm not annoying anyone with all of these questions and updates..

Anyways here is what the hood looks like after severe swirl remover on a green pad after about 4 applications.

Now you can see why I am interested in a flex or rotary tool :-) I can't tell if its been repainted or some one did a shoty quick fix, but to my eyes it looks like either a rotary with aggressive/dirty pad or wet sanding has been done with important in between steps skipped? Where to go from here? This is what I know - I can wetsand this by hand and prep for the PC system but, I don't want to spend a week on the hood alone for two reasons (one being there are rock chips in the paint also)... what would be the quickest way to remove that etching and sctatches?

Difficult to tell, in the first photo is the paint raised or a below surface scratch?
