My wife and I took delivery of a pre owned 2009 Subaru Forster wagon. Silver metallic grey. The out side needed a clay and a Swirl remover polish & swirl remover with 5 inch cross grove pads with and finishing black and glaze. I spend two days on the out side cleaning the wheel arches , alloy wheels and paint. the interior was like brand new so only a minor vacuum was need and an inspection for the tool kit and owners manuals. I stuck with Wolf Gang line of products and was very impressed by The new detail carnauba spray by XMT pinnical I plan to order a gallon great stuff I have a spay bottle the real package tray and a coupe of microfiber towels for emerge touch up.

I purchased my Subaru from Tim Simmons in Long Beach, Bad experience with my first encounter to chance the brake pads they didn't feel right because I was told I could not take it on the freeway. Concerned for my wife's safety I told them to change the pads I got screwed on the bill more the it cost to change brake pads on my Mercedes-Benz 300-E I ordered the factory workshop manual at thier cost plus 10% so I can see how to service this Subaru my self. . The Sales man said Oh the car is detailed . I like to know what they consider a detail. Plus the Finance manager is a real piece of work.
after telling him my Credit union approve a loan he gave me a better rate then asked to speak with my credit union. I am a bit suspicious of their tactics.

The paint know looks wonderfuls smooth and clear, too bad it has to sit in out back yard my garage is filled with two Mustangs and a 280SL Mercedes-Benz in the shop for a restoration to the body and interior
My other wife's car a Black 300-E Sport line 1992 sits out site covered as well and need my attention. Thanks to Michael Book I was able to correctly polish this car and used Wolf Gang Fusion wax' to finish it off.

I plan to use my paint dept gauge to test the vehicle's paint. I still see some minor spider webs in the hood , but it is 1000 times better than when we picked it up.

getting my garage organized now I got great customer service from you fooks at Auto Geek. Thank you very much. despite the fact my body heart
for two days I enjoy a clean car and showing the dealership waht a proper auto detail looks like.
Sincerely
Bob Geco

Just curious (actually nosey)...what did the shop manual run you?

Reason I ask, is that Subaru does not have a yearly manual, they just add to last years updates. Hence, the cost is upwards of $1000.

Caveat: Things may have changed and I may well be full of bull.

EXCLUDES WIRING DIAGRAM IF I DECIDE TO TO PURCHASE THAT.
I AM GOING TO TALK WITH ANOTHER diy REPAIR MANUALS AND SEE All I have is a quote at cost plus 10% for engine drive train, parts break down book and some supplements
WHAT THEY HAVE FOR MY WIFE;S 2009 SUBRU FROSTER on Monday before we go back to tie up some loose negotiations . I need to rebuff the hood I am not happy and when the sun goes down I can see some slight spider webs. I may be getting too critical because this is not going to be a show car and the paint is already 1000% better. If I just can keep it washed and waxed . Then I will be happy. I will send pictures of another boring silver SUV.
Thanks all hope I answered you questions about the manuals I need to double check with the parts manager who is a good guy ans see what I am receiving. most if not all of today's information is on line through major auto manufactures then it flows down to the independent garages and is sold as boundless or up dates for their Scanners . I do not think even though I own a Snap-on scanner that I will pay the price for the up dates I am behine.
Keep on waxing

Congrats on the new car!
They tried to pull that crap with me when I bought my first new to me pre-owned car. I told them I already got approved for a certain finance rate through my credit union. The sales guy said "No problem, we can match it". Well when I went so sign and pick up the car the next day they did the ole bait and switch. It was 2% higher through their bank.
I told them I wasn't happy and the guy just told me to refinance through my credit union. It was a pain, but I didn't have to pay the extra money.
And yes this detailing stuff is very addicting.
If you ever have work done at the dealer make sure you put a sign that says "DO NOT WASH" and let your service rep know as well. Chances are they will take it through the automatic swirl machine and use some terry towels to dry it, quickly ruining your hard work.

Not always the case though. When I bought my barely used BMW from Ottos BMW in PA is was swirl free and nicely detailed. Also, it's BMW BSM which to me is a hard color to keep nice.

Robert...Thanx for the feedback. You explained it much better than I asked.

I must say...CONGRATS on the Subby! The 'better half' has a 2000 Outback, and she will buy another when the time comes.

You can pay for an online version. It is not cheap but definitely below 1000.00

Congrats on the subie. I have only purchased parts from timmons but i will never go back. A new dealer is opening in hermosa beach so i'll have to check them out.

To answer some questions. Yes the load office says he wants to cuddle the finance loan they gave me a good rate under 4% which is less than my credit union 5%. My sister who is more wise and around these things said call your credit union check before giving him authorization to do what he calls a back up. Bunch of crapola my sister said tell him either we return the car or he sticks to his promise. She explained that is private information he could get into and raise m finance charge.
Second I we are speaking apples and oranges when it comes to BMW and a Subaru I saw their detail operation and I would not let them touch my car nor due I plan going back except for warranty repair with and I plan to watch them weather they like it or not. I got screwed once on the price of the brake pads replacement not again.
And last I will take some boring pictures of a Japanese car for you.
P.S. my wife and sister and I talked to this new lady manager who said if I need anything to go to her first and I will get her cost plus 10% , so I think in all they want to make me happy . Its just talking to the right people and I think we found her she. She understands our polite and wants to help keep us a a happy customer. Its not a car for me I have my Mustangs and my 280SL, that will last me the rest of my life. The Subaru is our new Dogie car and go getter. Lucky for me I get handicap plates so I can park it in a nice wide spot.
Warm Regards
