Spent a ton of time on this forum last year after I scratched the crap out of my Camaro last fall using too dry of a paste wax, and a crap pad to apply it. Ended up buying the Porter Cable and using Megs 101, 105, and 205 on it. Came out great. Time to move on though. It's being traded in for a Hyper Blue 1SS 2016 Camaro. Not sure what direction to take on a new car which should be relatively swirl free being new. Car has been ordered and will arrive in February most likely. Two months to figure out what to do.:)

Do not allow dealer to remove plastic or wash when your new car arrives at dealership!

Out of curiosity, when did you order that car? I ordered a 2SS about two months ago and it's supposed to be built this week. They started building these cars about 6 weeks ago and I don't think any have hit any of the dealerships in this area yet.
I would try to get your dealership to lock in a trade in value as soon as you can. When these cars become pretty readily available the market is going to get flooded with the old body style driving values down. Mine is a 2010 SS1 with 33K on it. I can turn it over to them by this Saturday and get 19,500 trade in value or if I decide to keep it until mine comes in it could be worth a little more or a little less depending on how the used market goes. I figure the window between the 2015's being gone and the 2016's becoming readily available is going to be the best time as far as value is concerned.
Are you getting the adjustable exhausted and magnetic ride control?
On mine I'm going to polish then "jewel" the paint and coat it with either Getecniq C1/EXO combination, or 22ple VX Pro2. Coatings help keep he car clean and makes washing a breeze.

I actually told the dealership they could remove the plastic, but not to wash etc. do they tend to damage the paint removing the plastic?

Just demand that they take the plastic off on delivery day while you are there. That way you can inspect the car together for any shipping damage etc and you can make sure they don't wash it.

Good idea, thanks.

I would like to know if they actually agree to this. Most dealers remove the plastic and protection from the vehicle soon after delivery so they can charge the delivery company for the damage. Welcome to the forum. Hide your wallet!

I just got a order # on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There are cars in Texas already. One dealer in IL already has close to 20 in stock. My deal is locked in for my trade. Rodger's Chevy in Michigan is where I am getting the car from. They are delivering it to my house on a trailer for free, and taking my 2010 back with them. I am getting only 3 options on the car, 8 speed Auto, the dual mode exhaust, and the 5 split spoke painted wheels. For all the info you will ever need on this car head to Camaro6.com and join the forums.

From what I have seen over at Camaro6.com the cars are shipping with no plastic on the exterior, just on the seats.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. I'm actually going between two dealerships. The one I originally ordered the car from, who seems to be giving me some run around. They are telling me they still don't have pricing on the car. One of my neighbors sells used cars and hooked me up with a buddy of his that works at a dealership. They have the same car already ordered. Both cars are being produced this week.

Pricing has been available since August 22nd. Dealers just have to look for it. Build and price is actually up on the Chevy website also. It has been up for about three weeks, but we have known pricing for a few months already.

They don't like it, but they agreed when I've made it clear I'd walk away from the deal if the plastic is off when I come to pick the car up.
