^^good point
Overall the paint is glossy and clean it just has those scratches here and there that BUG me. Considering the paint is still good should i only use the UC on the spots that have these scratches and something less abrasive for the rest?

Yes you can. For example, if you have have a few deep scratches there is no need to do the entire car with the same polish needed to remove the few deep scratches.

However, if you are new at this (and it sounds like you are), you may not be judging the paint condition correctly. Swirled paint can look glossy enough to satisfy a lot of people except when light hits at certain answers. And, when you polish swirled up paint so it is clearer, I think it can makes some swirls stand out even more...since the paint is clearer.

If you want the best advice, you should post some pics of the paint at various places where the sun is reflecting (the starburst) off the paint. We can really see the condition.

But, in the end you will need to do a test spot and see how you like the results on your paint since there are variables. The test spot will tell you if you what abrasive polish you may need. Your job is to be sure you have the polishes needed ready depending on what your test spot tells you (compound, medium polish, finishing polish).

Or going in blind, you could get Menzerna Power Finish (if you want one step) or Menz. SIP/106FA or the Wolfgang combo (2 step approach) and then use the Ultimate Compound on the annoying scratches.
