OK, so Friday afternoon I acquired another 442. This one was a 1987, and makes a fine little sister to my 1973! Anyway, I had just picked up some HD Speed and thought this would be a fine occasion to use it!

I apologize, as I was using my phone and could not get up close and personal pictures of the before and afters. They just wouldn't zoom in well, and kept coming out blurry, so I gave up. But, the car is 30 years old with 94K on the clock. The paint was very well maintained for those 30 years, and GM paint, especially in the 80s, was not always the best. The paint wasn't loaded with scratches and swirls, but there were quite a few.

I washed the car using Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Orange. Clayed with Riccardo Yellow. Next up was the HD Speed using my PC7424XP, and 5.5" LC CCS pads.

Initially, I was using the white pads, but stepped up to orange after I felt the whites were taking a bit long. I think I yielded much better results in this case with orange.

The HD Speed really did a great job, in my opinion. It was very easy to apply and remove! Very little dusting. Great grape smell. It behaves quite similar to the XMT360, that I also have in my arsenal, although I did not use the 360 on this car. I was in the zone and just wanted to finish! LOL.

Topped off with some Collinite 845 and I think she came out quite well. The pic of the car by itself is the finished product!

Thanks for the feedback... 3D HD Speed is a very cleaner/wax. I show it now in all my 3-day Competition Ready Detailing Classes.

Nice cars. Real cars not just point A to point B transportation type cars.

Thank you Mike! I appreciate the kind words! It's funny, because at one point, these were all point A to point B transportation type cars! Not everyone chose to hang onto them and maintain them for the future!

You don't really think about it, but I was struggling to admit that this 87 was now...um, 30 years old!! I guess that comes with the realization that all of us are getting older along with these vehicles! Then again, I still have my first car, a 77 Cutlass Supreme, and this month I will have had it 25 years.

My point A to point B car is a 2009 Acura TSX with 176000 miles! With the 6 speed manual, it's a fun car, and I maintain it well, but I can't picture hanging onto it for another 20 years! Makes you wonder what the future holds for the automotive world!

Either way, I have ensured that I have a lot of vehicular real estate to keep polishing with this bottle of HD Speed!

looking good! I wish I still had my 1983 Hurst. Was my all time favorite car.
