Hey guys, this was my first time doing the two bucket wash method.
Background: I started living in an apartment in 2013 at which point I bought my car. It was in a covered-open parking garage with no access to a hose or electricity. I lived on the 5th floor, so carrying a 5 gallon bucket of waterless wash was just out of the question. I asked many people if the best thing for the car would be a drive-through wash or to just let the dirt pile up. Most people suggested to let the dirt pile up because as long as it wasn't agitated, it wasn't going to harm the paint.
1.5 years later I finally bought a house with a driveway, hose, access to electricity, etc.
6 months after that, I got to do my very first 2-bucket wash last night. Mind you, I was original one of those guys who used a hose and cvs sponge in broad daylight with the sun beating down.
I started at 7:45pm-ish and probably finished around 9:30pm.
Method:
1. Rinse the wheels
2. Spray on Sonax Wheel Cleaner. Sit for 2-5 mins
3. Agitate with a boars hair brush and a large pipecleaner style brush
4. Rinse the wheels
5. Rinse the car
6. Spray Foam the car with Chemical guys Citrus Max Suds
7. Wookie Wooly Mammoth Mitt 2 bucket wash.
8. Rinse the car
9. Sheet the car (which didnt exactly work well since the car has absolutely NO protection. No wax, no sealant.
10. Dry the car with a leaf blower dryer.
11. towel dry the remainer.
A couple things I learned/questions I have.
1. Washing the car without direct sunlight is easier to avoid water spots.
2. Washing the car right before nightfall makes it easier to miss things as it gets dark.
3. Invisible glass was the first time I've ever washed the windows and gotten no streaks, as opposed to always using Windex.
You guys are gonna kill me, but I didn't really get any good pictures because as you'll see it was extremely dark. Extremely extremely dark.
