I have seen of few of you pros post pics with those cool stripes in the carpet but I have never done it. I was watching a video, I think AMMO NYC on YouTube and he said to use a brush so today I thought I'd try. I am finishing a long detail process on the car and finally got around to the interior today. I was trying out some new Griot's interior cleaner and once I got the mats clean I tried the brush trick. Well I couldn't get anywhere doing that for some reason :dunno: So I thought I'd give it one more try just using the vacuum with a perfect size attachment and viola here is what I got, pretty proud of it for my first time LOL:

BTW, how do you all clean the logos that are lighter colors in a mat? The Griot's I think is super gentle and even though I scrubbed, one of the logos looks a little darker than it should be. Maybe it is just worn that way, but I'm thinking maybe the Griot's doesn't have the power? I really loved the cleaner as it is gentle with no dyes and no perfumes, etc. but I think it may be a little too gentle?

Oh and look into Folex can be bought at the local hardware store like Home Depot.

Finally, you can go to your local Arts and Crafts store and buy stencils and brush designes. I've done flowers :)

You can probably do the solar system :D

Nice work. My only tip would be where the mat thins out at the top...make sure those lines are straight, you thinned out the top of those second lines in. When I do that I just go back over that line so its all even.

Get what I mean??? I can photoshop your pics if you dont.

Yeah I see that, definitely will work on getting it perfect, might as well complete my OCD on the mats too LOL.

BTW, I need a decent carpet brush, I think mine is junk, anyone have any recommendations?

Mother's makes a pretty decent cheap one. All you really need is a stiff nylon brush to dislodge dirt so it's easier to vacuum.

Please, no way I'm here to disagree with above comment!,

I like the stripes, although I don't use them always, they have it's place for sure.

You did an awesome job on your first try, keep doing it, practice leads to perfection. And striping is fun to do, no? hahah I can waste good time on it.

My tips for cleaning clear logos on carpet are CG Fabric Clean and / or Steam Cleaner (yes, or / AND if needed).

Thanks for sharing,

Kind Regards.
