Just finished my first detail with my new XMT products and I have hazing. I did a search and it seems that maybe I didn't let the 7424 work it long enough. I used a clay bar first, followed by XMT3SR, followed by XMT Carnuba finsihing glaze and then finished with PS. To eliminate the hazing do I need to start completely over again or just go back to the XMT3 and work it longer? How do you tell if you've worked it long enough - does it completely disappear? I'm doing this on a black '04 CTS-V. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.:cheers:
 
It should look like it is barely there. You should expect to spend about 3-5 minutes per section. PC is slow, but designed to be almost perfectly safe if following the directions. Hazing can be removed by a lower step polish, or you might need to use a less aggressive pad with the #3.
 
The finish looks good, just hazed. Should I step down to a lower number XMT SR or would another product work better?:confused:

It all depends. There is no real formula for removing haze. Try using a lower number product, and if that doesn't work, you might try different pads. It can be tough, but be careful to use the least aggressive combo possible.

Haziness...cloudyness?? I'm not certain what the diff is. Can you explain?

SORRY! I meant streaking or cloudiness???
 
TNT: you might try doing a panel with XMT until the product almost disappears, then wipe the remaining off using a quick detailer and an mf towel. I got the same cloudiness on a Black Roush at first and this did the job.

the polish should be wet looking and you will likely work each panel 5-10 minutes to really get the PC to do any swirl removing. When the polish flash cures (drys) it becomes a cloudy white powered substance. If this is happening prior to you working each panel for at least 5 minutes, then you need to start with a damp pad or add a spritz of water while polishing.

always take the least abrasive route first. I would try #1 and a finishing pad and see if it j-ewels the cloudy surface.
 
same thing happened to me and all I did was step down the pad a polish and it worked perfectly. Finishing pad and finishing polish should do the trick.
