ok just wanted to show the hood of my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, only did the hood just to see how it came out although wish I would've taken before pics. it was pretty dull and had some light swirl marks, This is my first time with the Porter Cable 7424XP
My Process:
1. Washed the Front Cap.
2. Claybar with Griot's Garage Paint Cleaning Clay & Speed Shine.
3. Megs Ulitmate Compound on Lake Country Orange Foam Pad 5.5
4. Menzerna Power Finish on Lake Country Green Foam Pad 5.5

No more swirls :)

Just want to say thanks to Garry Dean for his advice on picking out the Porter Cable Kit and Products :dblthumb2:

The PC is a great machine. Not over powering yet fully capable of compounding to finishing with outstanding results.

Looks great! Congrats on your new toys..
yup had a problem at first using the PC but I found out it was just me getting use to it, I use to use a Big fat Orbital Buffer but that thing weighs in at like 17 lbs and the shaking was nuts can never see myself going back to that machine unless I am going to polish Marble tops lol .. not
Thanks tw

Excellent work! :righton:

yes indeed just by using it on my hood I can see what is it capable of and more, cant wait to do the rest of the vehicle and some customers I have lined up for this week and next week, I also just ordered some M105 and M205 would really like to see how they work

One pad that's often overlooked is the green pad. It's a really nice mid-range pad that works very well with 1-Step products

The green pad works well for the application of polishes, light swirl removers, pre-wax cleaners, and cleaner waxes.

Some examples: Meguiar's D151, Prime Strong, Pinnacle XMT 360, Poorboy's SSR 1, and Menzerna Nano Polish.

I think your results are outstanding and my guess is you thought it would be more difficult than it was....:props:

haha your right about that BobbyG I really thought it was but it wasn't, but I can't think all will be the same, I'm sure I will encounter difficult work but its all part of the learning process
and yes the green foam pad really worked nicely with the menzerna power finish, using it for Pre-Wax Cleaners is also my goal for the green pad, thanks for the tips :props:

Great job. You really woke up the metalflake.
Yeah I noticed that Flake it was almost a surprise to me lol, thanks

Excellent results for your first time! :xyxthumbs:

Yep... it's the before shots that give the "after" shots their power...

The power in the after shots is created in the before shots

:)
Thanks Mike I've learned a lot from watching your videos, and I was just testing on my hood it occurred to me that I've should have taken before shots, but what I will do is get some before shots of the top of the SUV where it is really bad and show you guys this coming weekend, so you guys can see the difference, thanks again :xyxthumbs:

was it the coarse green pad or the one that is a little softer then the white lc pad?

Looks really good! I see you have done some research and picked a good line up of polishes and pads. The 5.5inch pads are key to producing superb work with the PC. Nicely done and welcome to the addiction!

I use my green pads for one steps. Love getting new toys!
yup heard they were good for one step as well

What is the advantage of the 5.5 pads over the 6.5?

BTW use to own a 1970 442 that ran 10.80's and a 1987 442 with a 350 Olds that ran low 13's.
