I just bought a Porter Cable 7424 XP and had to try it out on my car, a Volvo 240 with 275k on it. All in all I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out, but I wasn't able to get rid of all the RIDS or swirl scratches. Perhaps I need to apply more pressure? The paint seemed pretty hard.

I didn't even attempt the roof, as the clearcoat is almost completely gone from an incident the previous original owner had with a garage door. It's well beyond anything I could fix.
