This is my first time waxing my car and I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I used the guidance from the Collinite 845 thread. Here is what I plan to do.

  1. Wash car with soap and water
  2. Clay car with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Auto Detailing Clay Bar w/ lubricant
  3. Polish car with Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion and Lake Country Hydro-Tech Tangerine Polishing pad
  4. Wax car with Collinite 845 and Hydro-Tech Crimson pad
Do I need to wash the car again with soap and water after I clay it? or after I polish it? Am I missing any steps? Thanks for your help.

I would toss in Iron X after your initial wash and before you clay; especially if you have a light colored vehicle. In terms of washing after you clay, no, there's no need. Just wipe it dry. After you polish, again, no need to wash. Just remove all traces of polish and seal it up. From there you could finish the "details" of wiping off the residue/dust with a damp MF Towel and some rinseless if you so desire.

Thank you. I forgot to mention I have a white 2014 Honda Pilot. I've never had it waxed.
