Fixing Kwazar sprayer

I came here because I had the exact same problem. This is a brand new Purple Mercury Super PRO+ Alka line 1000 ml (34 oz) bottle and the top and the bottom got seperated while I was spraying the wheel arches with diluted CarPro Multi X and the bottle did not spray anymore:

After searching for like 30 minutes I found a white pellet and it looks like this was the culprit. After putting the pellet back in the opening of the bottom part the spraying functionality was restored:

I noticed that after putting the top back that it would not stay so I used teflon tape. I am glad that I know what the problem is and that it got fixed but this is just unacceptable for a brand new and relatively taken expensive spray bottle. I ordered one bottle for testing purposes and I believe that the bottom part of the 1000 ml (34 oz) bottle is too heavy. Next I am going to try the 500 ml (17 oz) bottles.

As for Manichol, using an alkaline solution (in my case 3D Orange citrus degreaser diluted 1:4 with water) killed my Kwazar Mercury Pro 0.5L sprayer. The SDS for 3D orange degreaser (concentrated) lists its pH as 12.

I've been running Kwazar Mercury 360's for a number of years now. All bar two have been the 500 ml version as the larger 1000ml is too heavy and bulky when full.

Of the 25 or so I have ran, I've had the following failures -

- Shine Supply Wise guy murdered two spray heads before I put the product in something else. To be fair on Kwazar, Wise Guy killed every sprayer I tried, including chemical resistant Tolco and Canyon spray heads. In the end, I put it into a Marolex pump action sprayer and have had no issues since. The same would likely happen with any heavy alkaline product. I did have luck with Auto Finesse APC, but that was a useless product anyway.

- One snapped head after I knocked it off the counter. Because the bottles are very well made it sustained no damage, so I simply replaced the head.

- KCx Guf doesn't agree with the spray heads and turns the normally pliable pickup tube rock hard. With this product, I find it takes 25 to 30 pumps to get it spraying.

- KCx Fresh Up killed a spray head, although in fairness it took about 3 years to do so.

Our local Kwazar distributor has the below quote at the end of the product description for the Mercury 360 -

We recommend avoiding use of Tyre Shine products with Mercury triggers as they are known to cause premature failure.
Please check the chemical Ph rating you're using before use as incorrect use isn't covered under warranty.

The comment about tire shine would be more in line with solvent based dressings, which sort of explains why Guf has caused issues, it contains a solvent. I have been using these sprayers with a number of water-based dressings including Carpro Perl, Shine Supply Decked Out, Megs Hyper Dressing and 303 Protectant with no problems at all.

Overall, I really like these sprayers. The spray pattern is excellent, they fit my hands and produce the smoothest trigger action of all I have tried. The double action output is nice to have as well.
