make sure to wipe rim clean between every step. this is my first try at a howto hope it will help out.
 
From what I can see in those thumbnails it looks like everything worked out well. Thanks for sharing with us.
 
thanks they did turn out good. some of the scratches were about 2 mills deep.if you want to see the bigger photos go into gallery here
 
They do look really nice. It's nice to see someone take the time to do such nice work. How many hours do you think you have in the project total?

After your sanding, have you tried Jewelers rouge on a die grinder with a 4" firm cloth wheel...there are several different grades of rouge...after 3000 grit paper I'll start with #4 and finish with #6...seal it and it looks like chrome
