Just read on another site that you just hit each panel with a couple light sprays and let it eveaporate off. He said you do not wipe it and buff it off like other QD as this is gross mis use of the product. Is this true? Just a couple quick sprays and let it evaporate? Thinking about trying the FK1 425. Thanks
 
If this is true, you would use the whole bottle to detail your car. The idea of a QD is to get light dust off the paint, how would that happen without wiping? Will the dust just evaporate? Give me a break!!
 
hey lowprofile-it has agreat reputation but I've never heard of it applied that way. Never used it personally, but it's always in the discussion when you're considering a QD.
 
Just thought that information was very questionable so thats why I brought it here. Actually just getting home and my fed ex pack with my FK1 425 is here. The directions on the bottle say: "use a clean microfiber cloth folded in quarters, wipe clean. Turn to a dry portion for final wipe." Looks pretty black and white to me. Just wanted to see if there was something about this product that I didn't know :) Not sure where that guy got his info but I will stick with what the directions on the bottle tell me.
 
i spray each panel, lightly spread it around and then buff off...
 
I use FK1 425 and love it. The whole evaporation thing is news to me. I use it as a quick detailer and as an additional lubricant when drying after using a leaf blower. I use it the same way as Big Al3

Joe, why is "lubricity" important to you when QDing? I have a good QD which has great spreadability/"lubricity" (Riwax Quick Shine) but I find that it is far more work to spread/flip the towel/buff than using 425. A trigger pull per panel (two mists when you use the small sprayer) is fully sufficient. No spreading, just quick, immediate gloss. It disappears instantly, and won't streak.
I don't understand people who mist the whole panel then spread the mess; wipe it around and finally try to buff it out. 425 is not predestined for this kind of misuse.

Dave, what are your impressions of the hand glaze? I have only the machine glaze but I plan to order the 300 as well.

Maybe I mis interpreted it. But it sounds like spraying and rubbing it all over the place and buffing it is his interpretation of mis use. Must have mis read what he was saying. :) Does this make more sense?

My favorite QD right now is Optimum. Why? Does a very fine job and is very cost efficient if you buy a concentrated version of 32 oz, or a gallon. Dillutes with water 3:1, meaning a gallon of an awesome QD will cost you only $20!
here is a little tip - add 1/4 oz of Optimum NO RINSE to a clean bucket where you gonna soak you drying MF towel. Add 1/2 gallon of water. Soak your towel, wring it out. Then spray QD on entire car and dry. Be sure to use sheeting water method PRIOR to spraying QD.
Both Optimum products work so well! This is a stunning combo.
P.S. I tried it with Last Touch QD withoug much success.

I too like the Optimum QDer over several products including Aquawax. When used on a slightly damp car it doesnt streak, and provides noticable gloss and slickness.
