Does anyone else have trouble with the flex's backing plate velcro? When I bought my Flex I got the 6.5 and 5.5 inch Variable Contact pads made for the flex by Lake Country. Steve over at Poorboy's World carries these pads exclusively and as far as I know no other E-store carries them.
These particular pads have a shorter nap to the velcro loops as compared to a Flat or CCS Lake Country pad. Below is a picture with the VC pad on the left and a CCS on the right.
The VC pad on the left has more of a short fuzzy nap or smaller size loops.
The CCS pad on the right has a deeper nap or larger size loops that attach to the Flex backing plate better than what the VC pads do.
Now on to the backing plates. The Flex backing plate that came on my Flex polisher has a velcro (hook side) that has significantly less hooks per inch as compared to an LC backing plate.
For this reason combined with the shorter nap or smaller size loops on the VC pads, the VC pads just wouldn't stay centered on my Flex's backing plate. Even the CCS pads would come off center at times. It was very frustrating as i do a lot of work with this machine.
Are other flex owners having this issue and just dealing with it or did I have a unique backing plate with crappy velcro? I have since done a velcro transplant described in this thread below so I no longer have this issue at all but I am sure that this backing plate will not last for ever.

What I want is a Flex backing plate that I can purchase that has Lake Country Velcro already on it. Maybe this backing plate already exists I don't know.
So post up Flex users, are you having any issues with this problem or not?
Thanks in advance, TD
