Flex 3401 base gear plate has bigger gap?

I dont think the space/gap normal? I seem to remember it being closer. Sorry for the bad pik.

That's a lot bigger than mine...you might want to check that the screw that holds the backing plate on is tight.

Doesn't look like it's seated correctly. The slot on the backing plate has to line up just right on the nut in the gear mechanism.
