Flex 3401 heat issues

I ordered the HD version with the 25ft cord pre attached and it comes with a bag. I just am trying to find solutions before a problem crops up. It's for personal use and maybe once I get good I'll start a side business.

I get some heat at the metal spindle housing. Not enough to concern me though. I don't really apply the pressure required to grind the backing plate into the housing, which is where I believe a lot of the heating issues occur. If you make sure to follow Mike Phillips' recommendations, especially regarding oiling the felt ring, you should be safe.

These machines have been out a while now, and have a proven track record with established professionals around the world. It has a great reputation of durability, results.

I have and use the Flex. It does exactly what I need it to do, when, and how I need it.

Excellent advice , couldn't have said it better myself :dblthumb2:

I was looking at some pictures of the gears on the inside of the flex 3401 and didn't know if it would be beneficial to squeeze a little bit of grease for those gears so when they rotate they have plenty of lube if there's not much already in there.
