Anybody know the size of the new hex bolt that comes with the 4 inch changeable backing plate system kit? It's a different size then the original, and I need to tighten this baby up.

Thanks Mike for the quick response!

I believe this is correct for the updated adapter kits.

Metric Bolt = 1.25 x 20

Washer = 5/8"

Plus there are two shims about 1" in diameter and paper thin.

:)

Hello Mike and community
I saw this thread and it brought up a question. I just got the lc 4 in bp system and it does have the shims. I read in Mikes flex book that the shims are for the 6in plate that is no longer available. I thought I had read in some older threads also that one shouldn't use the shims for the 4 in bp. So should I use the shims with the 4in bp? Seems I should since they came in the package but want to be sure before hand due to the conflicting info. Sorry if I missed a thread that explains this already, been researching a lot and may have missed it.

Mike, really enjoy your book and videos I've seen.

Thanks

You can get the correct bolt at Lowe's or Home Depot in stainless and grade 8

Do not use the factory bolt with the adapter

Do not use the adapter bolt with the factory backing plate
In addition, I just ordered the FLEX3401 as an upgrade from the GG^. I ordered the Flex FLEX XC3401 Mini 4 3/8 Backing Plate, FLEX but I feel like I,m missing something in that all the posts I read what LC part are people referring too?
Thanks to anyone.

this backing plate ^ doesn't use an adapter/plate, and it's basically the same as the factory backing plate that comes with the flex just trimmed down. mount it, screw it in, and you're good to go...
