Need help!! Which one Is the better choice!! Don't know which one to purchase and I will be using it for detailing on the side and personal.

Never used the pe but I have a 75 and friggin love it.

IMO I prefer the 75e. I have the big boy rotary with 2inch backing plate and extension for precision power and cut. I use the rupes mini pretty much every time I correct paint for 'edging' where I cant get into with my 3401 or 21es.

IMO I would go with the Rupes LHR 75E.
I am a Flex guy too!!
IMO you will have more options to correct than the PE8. The PE8 is limited to 3" and no more than 4" Pads. Granted it is a rotary. I had one and sold it as I could not master the rotary technique as well as my DA technique.

I was limited in what I could do with the PE8. That is just me; you might be able to handle a rotary better than I did...heck anyone could!!....LOL

Most of us on AGO do very well in working with a DA and that is why I think the Rupes is the way to go.
Again, if it were me, I would get the Rupes.

I totally agree:

And I own both machines. You have more flexibility with the Rupes Mini. If you can buy both, that's an option. If you need to choose between the two, Rupes Mini is the way to go.

I'm kind of at the same crossroads myself. I detail professionally and currently have a flex 3401, griots gg6 with 3 inch plates and an old Milwaukee rotary. I'm looking for better in tight spots and can't decide on the rupes or just doing the pe8 or pe14 with extensions. I'm just hoping to wake up one day and know so I can stop reading threads all day.

For what I use it for I think the pe14 with extensions is a good catch all. And then get the rupes nano when it comes out also.

I have a Flex random polisher and it has a direct drive system that I like very much. Does the Rupes LHR 75E have a similar system?

No, the Rupes LHR 75E is a free spinning DA, not a forced rotation DA like the Flex 4301 is if that is what your are asking.

Thanks, that's what I needed. I'll wait for a "forced rotation" unit to come out. I've got a Griot's 3" "free-spinning" unit already.

I believe the rupes has a lot more power than the 3 inch griots polisher, making it much more able in the correction department. But if you already have a 3 inch griots maybe the pe8 is just right for you. You can get more aggressive with that and then finish it out with the griots.

DavidHayward, Mantilgh: You are both right of course. The Griot's is really nice for wax but it's not aggressive enough for real correction. The more I thought about the Rupes, the more I wanted it so I got it.

I pretty much use my GG 3inch for wetsanding that's about it. I use my 75E for correction. The GG mini is a PERFECT wet sanding tool!

Thanks for the tip KOSMETIKWERKS! i hadn't thought of that.
