FLEX Swirl Finder Light Review

I love Flex and think they have some excellent top notch products. this light however isn't the best for spotting swirls/scratches (one shouldn't count on source of lighting) and IMO is priced too high (great for outdoors though). I have the exact same one (minus the grip cover and box) I got shipped for less then $10-$11. just being honest here...

I love flex as well and figured that the quality would be top notch. I laughed as soon as I opened the bag it was in. The paper that came with it the ink was smeared and was clearly cut out with scissors and the cuts were not even straight. I posted a review of this product but it was never posted. I guess the reviews are being screened before being posted. I left s message for Flex North America we will see what their response is regarding this sub par over priced product.

:iagree:

Omg I cant believe it i just found the exact same light elsewhere. On the back of the box it has NU-53 over the barcode and made in China. I looked around online and found the exact light Sarge NU-53. On the front of the box you can make out the S and the GE through the flex sticker

So much for German Engineering. When I got this light I felt ripped off by Flex now I have found the proof.

Well, flex is owned by a Chinese company now. Perhaps that's howthey are getting crownproducts to market faster.

If the light works, it works. Who cares who made it, where it's from, how it's badged, etc. If you find one for cheaper, goody on you. I picked one up at Christmas time, on a cyber buster sale, plus a 20% off, so I really don't feel too cheated.

Also, I'll expect FLEX NA to stand behind their product should it kick the bucket.

My issue is when you are paying $45 for a flashlight based on the Flex name you are not getting a cheap flashlight in a box that you can tell the stuck their sticker over another company's name. of course your always gunna find stuff cheaper that's not the point here. IM always willing to pay price for quality and this is like a bait and switch. Also whats the point of having reviews on the site when they are not posted? I clearly posted a 100% legitimate negative review and it's not being posted. What other bad reviews on other products are not being posted?

There's a valid concern there to be sure regarding the reviews. I believe I've seen many a less-than-glowing review on a number of products here at AG off hand, I can tell you the bottle proportion measuring devices have a pretty low rating, IIRC. You'll definitely not find anything less than an amazing review of any product at the chemical guys website, and I myself wrote a few two star reviews there, but you'll never see them. I believe AG top be much more fair and honest in this regard.

If a review includes unabashed attacks on products, or manufacturers, links to competitors, etc. then I could see why it would be stymied. Did you happen to mention in your review that you found the flashlight under a different name for cheaper, or use harsher than necessary language like "it's a piece of crap", or "don't buy this junk", etc. in your review? If so, I can see why they chose not to post it. While AG might not directly be hurt by such a review, it can't be helpful to their relationship with the many vendors to allow their products to be attacked in such a manner on their sales pages.

The forum is more suited to that type of criticism, and a more correct place to discuss that type of material. In all honesty, the staff here on this forum are far more lenient toward free discussion of products than most sites with a vested sales interest.

There's a few products I've purchased from AG that I've not been super impressed with, and I've posted about it here. To the credit of the staff here, I've never been banned, warned, reprimanded, or otherwise told to tone it down in posting my opinions of the products.

Let me be 100% clear im not bashing AG at all they have one of the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. They are truely the top when it comes to detailing

No, I believe (if I read you correctly) the bulk of the ire is directed at this one particular offering from FLEX, and not even at FLEX as a whole.

Exactly. It's just this one product. I love my Flex 3401 and picking it up the first time you can tell its high quality.
