Autopia just posted this on their facebook page

For sure a long throw however judging by the plate doubt that Its forced rotation.

As I don't think forced rotation 21mm is even possible to run a smooth operating machine.

The flex 8mm gets tough to control sometimes

I suppose if it is a free-rotation DA, that will be cool too. I've been holding off on a Rupes or Boss because I haven't been too impressed with build quality. You know that won't be an issue with Flex.

Looks like it could be called the Punisher.

Here's a couple more from Autopia

Mike Phillips made a thread on the prototype its a random orbital da 15mm long throw

Then again on that post it said xfe 7 this says xce

He did have a prototype but who knows maybe they made more then one machine ?

A 10.9 amps motor seems too powerful for it to be free spin.
Griots Boss has 7 amps motor.

XFE 7-15mm-150 Free Float DA
XCE 9-8mm-150 Direct Driven DA

The latter an evolutionary approach to the 3401, runs cooler and is lighter me thinks. If so unfortunate no long throw direct drive :(

It's been over three house since the announcement was made. You'd think some press would have published something by now. Is it one machine? Is it two? Are they new models? Do they replace anything? I'm slightly disappointment by the lack of info on this right now.

Already prepared to be disappointed. Was hoping for a long throw 3401 :(

I'm not so sure about a long throw gear driven machine. I bet it would be a handful to keep under control. Imagine a 6.5" pad with 15mm of orbit. It would probably wear you out.

Seeing that these two machines are identical, I'm sure the Flex engineers experimented with a 15mm gear driven machine. Most likely returned less than favorable buffing experience. However I could be wrong.

Im glad that they updated the 3401.

Guess I'm getting a PE-14 as I already have a Rupes 15 and 3401.
