Flex XC 3401 or Porter Cable 7424 XP

I have read that the GG has a fixed backing plate, can someone tell me if this is true or not? I have read that there are multiple screws that are used to keep the GG backplate in place and you are limited with up to 6.5 inch pads? Some input would be appreciated.
Thanks

I dont have one but one of the main arguing points is the interchangable backing plates so you can have a 5.5" pad or get a smaller BP and use 4" pads.
Again I have no hands on experience with the polisher but Im pretty sure the bp is interchangable

Are you saying that the GG can have differenct backing plates? I don't have one, just trying to get all the facts before I pull the trigger and get one. I'm just in the market to get the best tool that will fit my needs. I have read on other posts that the GG has 4 screws for the backing plate and it is propriatary. That the GG is limited to one backing plate and limited to the pads. I have seen the 3m backing plate for the flex, so if you go with the edge system or even the 3m pads. One can use different size pads, is this not the case with the GG? My Makita just came in the mail today so now I'm waiting for my order of products. I ordered 6 pack of LC pads from AG. I just want to interchange my pads with both a DA and my rotary and have the freedom to use any size I want with both tools. Is the GG limited in that respect?
Thanks

Ok, here's the deal for me. I just talked to my better half. I told her my dilema about spending money on all these tools for our vehicles. LOL. She told me to get all the tools and stop thinking about what TOOL to get. :)
So guess my dilema is over, I'm getting all the tools. YAY!!!!!!! Man I've been thinking reading and thinking about this decision for almost a month now I think. Reading all these posts and she had the answer right there.
Good luck on your choices.
Thanks

You can put the same backing plate on the GG that goes on the PC's, nothing special about it.
