We had some bad storms here on Sunday in Saint Pete. I live with my grandparents in the Shore Acres part of St.Pete and the flooding has just been outrageous. It hasn't rained here since Sunday, but the tides are so obnoxious that the water remains in the street. So bad that I was unable to come home Sunday night due to the waters. Yesterday I even had to park the car at a nearby park and walk home. My grandmother and I walked through it this morning to get to work...and again this evening... It pains me to see the dummies in my neighborhood, that I know, drive right through it with no disregard for their vehicles. This is SALTWATER BTW. I mean we have the Explorer parked at the park because I won't drive through it, even washing it off when we get home, because if I can get it home, I won't be able to get out in the morning to go to work. So oh well. Just thought I would share some pictures of the flooding. My grandparents said this hasn't happened in the 29 years that they have lived out here, so to the people who say how can you live in an area like that, I generally tell them this doesn't happen often and when it does, it normally goes down in 3-4 hours. But let me tell you, these high tides ARE NOT doing wonders on our dock. The boats, on high tide, are just about floating by themselves. But enough talking, on to the pictures!
This is the entrance to our neighborhood looking out. This is on high tide and the water is probably 2 feet down there...

It actually went about 4-5 inches higher than this.

And these were all taken yesterday when I was finally able to get home. And nothing has changed today. They said it won't go down till probably Thursday. And then we fly out to New York on Friday! What timing...
