Florida Water Restrictions

Wow, heard on the new that regardless of the rain we've gotten, which has been nice b/c our lawn now looks brand new and fresh and green and trees looks great again etc., that they plan on year round restrictions. That if the correct water level is reached, there will still be a permanent restriction in place year round...that sucks:mad:

That sucks. I guess you might wanna get a whole gallon of DP 4-in-1 if you wanna wash your car.
 
Install fence; install gate in fence; drive car in back yard; wash to hearts desire.

That seriously does suck though. Go water ballon the board members houses.
 
Over here in Sarasota we can only water our lawn on Saturdays.

But, I get around that because I pull my water out of the creek that runs behind our property. I was given a ticket one morning from the water police, but I called him, explained the situation and he tore it up.

Seems one of my jealous neighbors turned me in because my lawn looks perfect and hers looks like Death Valley.

No water restrictions on washing your that I have heard of.
 
That does suck. I may have to start washing my cars in the garage. I don't think it with get good to wash them with the saltwater from behind my house.
 
I sure hope that dosen't happen. I like being able to wash my car whenever I want, its pretty hard to do it at the time they give you.
 
Ya'll can have all of our rain here in Texas! For two weeks, on and off... on and off!!! hate it, i can't detail when it rains!!! uuhhh... gary, how do yo wash in your garage? oh yeah, why does your wife drive a caravan and you have a lambo and viper???
 
They claim its rained everywhere but over the lake ... fact is lake is down and government is truly to blame. They made the error in emptying it before Hurricane Wilma and several other scares, now we deal with the outcome.

Funny, water management is pissed because its profit and taxes are down over a million. They actually want people to use more !!!
 
I dont understand how a place like Florida which rains like everyday or whatever can have water restrictions. This makes no sense, they need to invest some money into building a better water resources infrastructure to save some of that rain water.

B/C they emptied a sh!tload of water then they should have last year in preperation for Hurricane Season. But we were in a drought, so when they dumped the water again last year....we never recovered from the amount they emptied.

Yup theres two canals that meet up behind my house they drained those things down last year for two different hurricanes I think. Two times that never gave enough rain to fill it back up even an inch. And I love how I was driving to the movies on sat and the city sprinklers were watering the road at 10:30pm.
 
The water management people in Florida don't seem like they have a clue about managing Florida water resources. In previous years they were releasing so much water from Lake Okeechobee into the Caloosahatchee River the cities around were I live were talking about getting together to bring a law suit against water managment. All the nutrient rich fresh water was ruining all the saltwater estuaries around the area. In the summer we get a lot of rain but they do nothing to try and save some.

Same thing here in my town in Calif. Nobody is suppose to water on Monday. The city sprinklers are going on Mondays. Shoots "lead by example" in the foot.
Here's the big picture: Southern Calif has no water. They get water from canals out of the Colorado River and canals from Northern Calif. (which has plenty of water and commies). North Cal.=water restrictions. Southern Cal.=No water restrictions.
Back on topic. Sorry to hear that you are going through this in Florida.
 
Before moving to Ariz. (where I brought the Fl. drought with me), I spent 30 years in Central Florida and came to two conclusions: 1) SwiftMud has no clue about water management, and 2) there are way too many straws sucking the water out of the Florida Aquafer. Now we no longer have the storage capacity to keep up with the usage rate between rainfalls. I fear permanent water restrictions will become as familiar in Fl. as an orange tree....assuming there's enough water to support the tree.
 
In all seriousness ... why are we allowing contactors to continue to build in these areas. If we cannot provide water for the masses, then why are we allowing these same cities to build commercial mall after mall and replace homes with condo's and pack us in further ????
