I just ordered a foam blaster 6 from chemical guys. Makes it easier to use a foam gun if you dont have a power washer. Anybody have one ?

??? what is this you speak of.....

i'll have to look it up. ok. a foam gun kit. looks great! i love my foam gun. use it EVERY WASH.

basically, instead of using a foam cannon with a power washer, which I dont have, you buy a foam blaster from chemical guys to attach to a garden hose. Works the same way though

video for an idea

Same foam gun as a Gilmour or Butcher's.

Just set your dilution ratio and make sure to add soap to water not water to soap.

What is the difference between a gun and a cannon? Besides pressure washer needs? Seems like the cannon produces more foam?

Basically same thing with slightly smaller tank and less power as Im using heavy duty garden hose

i've never used the one with the plastic dial, but i prefer and would opt for the one with the brass sliding pin...

The plastic dial is the Gilmour Foammaster II, I believe. Its the one I have. Love it. Am a huge CG fan, but it was considerably cheaper from that online river in South America.

it looks to me like a huge percentage of the soap used just lands on the road. Do the pressure washer driven cannons
lessen this?
I like the idea of applying the soap this way, but why waste so much?

This is actually what you want.

Letting any loose dust, dirt, grit, etc...run off the surface with the soap.

I like to foam the car with a low (2-3) setting (less soap and more water) first, allowing this mixture to run off the car. Then use a higher setting (5-6) as I wash the car using both the gun and mitt at the same time.

Yup the cannon will create more foam and in a more uniform manner allowing for full coverage. Based on the specs of your system you can achieve very thick foam

I feel that power washers are not worth it unless you have a business. I dont but I hate trying to wash a really dirty car when I do details for my friends or for others that I know

if you plan on using this only as a pre-soak then pass (i use it as a washing aid as well). you're better off getting a foam cannon/lance and pressure washer...

Could not agree more. After getting my MTM foam lance i would never imagine myself using anythings else. In my opinion a foam gun like that is a waste of money, i have one like it and it just collects dust.
