Foam Cannon Reservoir depletes too fast!

Megs Hyperwash gets here tomorrow. Gonna try out more soap and less water with just the Honeydew for now since I'm gonna be out early tomorrow. Got a long detailing session ahead of me haha, gonna wash, clay and wax my baby.

LOVE the Honeydew soap! It smells so good! I'm only halfway through my first gallon and I already have a replacement waiting, lol! I thought about mixing some Adam's soap with it since I got a free bottle a while back.

Quick question

Avoiding sunlight and rain is proving to be quite the obstacle for me. I also don't have access to a garage or bay.

Is it bad to apply a paint sealant and wax in 80+ degree South Florida sun?

Seems the only time I can avoid the rain is in the early day but that sunlight is killing it earlier on in the day. What's a guy to do?

I too have have had this problem with the soap depleting too quickly. I've been using about 4oz of CG honeydew in my foam cannon. I'll have to try the suggestions provided. Thanks!

Update:

So I did 4oz of Honeydew and 4oz of Hyperwash, added like 6 oz water

I got some serious foam. Dialed the top knob all the way to the lowest setting and still was getting some ridiculous foam, it was looking like shaving cream haha. Barely used 1/4th of my reservoir. Extremely happy, saved the mixture for next weekend.

Thanks a ton guys.

One question, is it alright to apply your wax the following week after washing, claying, and sealing the paint? Time constraint would not allow for a wax application after buffing off the sealant. Was thinking of washing and waxing next weekend, should be fine yeah?

I have been vindicated! YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY Im the MAN
Send your tips to my home address! :D I'll take cash, debit or credit.

But seriously... if you'd not put any water in it, I bet you'd used even less of the reservoir. That Hyperwash is some killer stuff!:props:

For me... at the VERY least I'd suggest hitting it with a spray wax/sealant. Megs 151 or Duragloss Aquawax are both excellent. I keep both handy, but find that Aquawax is 'slicker'. Durability of both is measured from 6~12 weeks easy! :dblthumb2:

Of course you're going to wash it again next week before you seal it, right? My concern is what if you get any (acid) rain, sap, bird droppings, road fallout etc. on it in between now and then without any protection.

Basically today:

Rinse
Foam Cannon
Rinse
Two Bucket Wash method
Rinse
Nanomitt (clay bar)
Rinse
JetSeal paint sealant applied
Microfiber buff JetSeal off

I was going to wax but I didn't have time. Is that alright? Won't be an issue of some sorts? Was going to hit it with some Wax next weekend after foam cannon and 2 bucket wash.

I add 3oz's of car wash and fill the rest with warm water and lightly shake it up. I can foam the car twice with that...

If my black truck is just dusty and it hasnt been rained on, can I just foam canon it and then dry using a drying aide? Or will this swirl and mar the finish?

Thank you!

If you only foam and rinse (and skip the mitt-washing), I believe you run the risk of swirling and scratching the surface upon towel-drying. If you must foam and rinse (and don't have time to actually wash with a mitt), you may want to consider simply blow-drying (no towel), then cleaning your windows and mirrors. I suggest cleaning the windows and mirrors because they are most susceptible to showing water spots.

All that said, I've tried this method in the past, and I've realized that if I'm going to do a good (thorough) job of blowing the car dry with zero towel usage, it takes a LONG time, thereby negating any intended time-savings of skipping the mitt-wash (two-bucket method wash). Furthermore, you'll likely be left with some residual dust on the vehicle's surface.

If your okay just hitting it quickly with the blower and leaving a substantial amount of water on the vehicle, then I suppose this method could save you some time (but still won't compare to the cleanliness offered by the mitt and the two-bucket method on top of the foam gun/cannon).

Makes sense, thank you!

Guess that depends on how you dry it. I wouldn't do a lot of wiping, and wouldn't be applying any LSP on a non mitt washed (black) surface. (Just to be careful that is.)

That's not to say however that you can't get it clean though if it's just slightly dusty (as the scenario you described).

If it's coated.... drying with a blower is pretty darned fast! ;)
