Foam Gun Tips

You talking HP cannon? Like it'll fit my 4gpm/3600psi? Which one? Hmmmmmm, too many ways to spend money I don't have. :laughing:
 
Here's how I use my foam gun (not cannon):

1. Foam the car dry.
2. Rinse foam.
3. Foam again.
4. Holding the foam gun in one hand and the mitt in the other, I lay down a line of foam in the path of my wash mitt. This ensures that any dirt/grit dislodged by the wash mitt gets flushed away by a continuous stream of foam.
5. Clean mitt in rinse bucket.
6. Repeat 4 and 5 until done.

I feel that using the foam gun just to pre-foam a car isn't making the best use of it. I do use a lot more product my way, but shampoo is relatively cheap, and I'd rather spend the product then have to polish the paint.

I'd love to do this as it makes sense to reduce swirls but do you find using both cumbersome to do? I find the foam gun little awkward to manuver while using a mitt in the other hand. Any suggestions?

I also use method 2. 2Oz honeydew Mixed With Hot Water.

That's how I do it too, but the only thing I do different is instead of using the foam gun as my wash shampoo, I set up the traditional 2 bucket method, and foam a few panels that I'm going to wash and wash them the 2 bucket way, rinse, then foam a few more panels and repeat. So essentially I'm using two different soaps when I wash, one in my foam gun and another in my bucket. I agree that shampoos are relatively cheap, and I have some extra and can afford to do so with the stock I have. I agree with your statement that I'd rather be extra cautious instead of having to polish.

i have looked at the home depot and lows... i couldn't find the right combination of fittings to get a quick disconnect right at the wand to the spray "bar" i guess you would call it where did you pick up your pieces?? or do you use the foam cannon at the end of the two foot spray bar?? (seems like that would be awkward)
