Been looking at the foam cannons are they worth getting into. Also do u have to buy the soap for them or can u use any car wash cleaner?

i would say they are totally worth getting. they provide a much cleaner surface to use your mitt on when you actually go and use the two bucket method...sometimes I look at the car and think i don't even need to use the two bucket method after a foam gun and rinse.....suprising results. Yes, you will want to look into getting a foam gun soap like DP extreme foam or CG stuff (mr. pink, etc) or meguiars hyper wash

Can't wash a car without it..amazing how it preps it for wash. Get one you won't regret it..

being a noobe and on a budget of "dont let the Mrs. find out what im really spending" ,, I found a deacent foam gun at Wolly world. I dont even know the brand name, it was right under the wash tools. Called a wash and rince. While its not a high end foam cannon and the foam does not come out like shaving cream, it does a nice job of sudzing the car down. It has a bit of a small soap holder, but gets it done. For under 10 bucks I have no complaints. I just used the Megs soap that was on sale for 3 bucks a gal. Ill buy the gold conditioner next time. 5 gal wally bucket for 2.50 and the nice thick MF sponge. Car looks great!

Same here, purchased one at Walmart for 9$. The brand is Tune it! I am pretty sure it's a Walmart exclusive. Purchased brushes, applicators, MF towels and all sorts of things for very little money.

The foam gun works well with Meguiar's Ultimate Wash. Would love to see it work with Mr. Pink but I have spent over 1000$ so far so I am gonna calm down, use what I purchased and then order some new stuff like Mr. Pink later LOL

I detail as a hobby and started foaming this year. I had the pressure washer and use it every year for other chores so a wand and a cannon wasn't that much of a hit on a budget. I found a cannon at a different establishment and a new wand; couldn't be happier.

It does help, especially on wheels and wheel wells. What's more.... IT'S FUN!

I've been washing cars for over fifty years and did quite well all this time without a foam gun. I am sure I could go another fifty and not miss it. Having said that, I did buy the Gilmour gun earlier this year and have used it a few times with CGs "Clear" shampoo with good results. Although I do not consider a gun an essential detailing tool it does have its place and as someone else said, "it's fun"!

I have used one for about the past year. I think that it does help especially on dirty cars. They are a great way to get attention at a car show too. It helped me get extra business.

If for no other reason, it gets people's attention. To the average person, it LOOKS like you're really getting their car clean when they have you detail their car and that's what most people want. A really clean, (and shiny), car.

:)

I'm a hobbyist and I picked up the Gilmour Foamaster II. I like it, I don't use it every time I wash, I find the process of actually covering the entire car with adequate suds and washing the car via 2BM lets some of the soap either sheet and/or dry completely off/on the paint unless I have a really nice cloudy day to do it on, even then, I have to rush.

That being said, it's fantastic with a little bit of shampoo and a douse of APC to tackle wheel wells/wheels, cowls, exterior nooks & crannies to hit with a brush, gas caps, etc. I find myself using it only on thorough cleanings but I don't regret the purchase.

Maybe one of these days I'll finally find a pressure washer worth buying that isn't gas and get an actual foam cannon for it, but as a hobbyist I can't justify it unless I won a hefty scratch off or get a nice little bonus. If I were detailing for a living, I'd certainly get it both for richer foam, better clinging thus somewhat better cleaning, and the fact that it sells your service. I wouldn't be sold on a detailer using a Foamaster, but a Foam Cannon, sure would help seal the deal.

Absolutely worth every penny even though Im doing my car only these days. Washing has never been this easier for me. Ive the euro equivalent of the MTM foam lance. Had a few problems with it in the beginning, but after dismantling and fixing the O ring, its one hell of a kit.

Not only can the dilution be varied to make more suds in case of an extremely dirty car, but also we can add APC and other cleaners for lsp removal.
Have mostly given up the 2BM unless there is some stubborn dirt, but Foam gun with Hyperwash removes most of the dirt easily without me having to touch the surface and therefore risking swirls.
