LOL - I never feel like that (except with drywash lol).... I was wondering why I started this thread to begin with when I woke up this morning lol...... then checked it tonight and surprisingly saw a bunch of responses. Im not much to get technical with products, just seems that Folex is overrated for some reason in this forum. Again, I switched to it because of the hoopla on this forum.... but have now realized many vehicle's later that it is no greater than an APC IMO.
 
I used very diluted APC+ and didn't have any problem with mats today. I have used woolite and it has changed color of the carpets before. I was working on a beige interior and it changed the carpet green.

Good thing it was done at the dealership where I used to work. I learned a lot of what not to do there. :)

Folex's website says that it doesn't need to be rinsed out and won't attract dust and dirt. The reason they give is because it's non-ionic. I'm always skeptical of manufacturer claims, but since so many people here use it without rinsing, that's what I've started doing on headliners and seats and it's worked for me. Here's the info from their website-

FOLEX is Non-Ionic (it has neither a positive or negative electrical charge) so FOLEX will not attract dust or dirt back to the cleaned area. And because FOLEX does not contain oily solvents, or leave a soapy residue, the spots will not come back.

FOLEX does not contain hazardous chemicals, or leave a sticky residue, so No Rinsing Or Vacuuming Is Necessary!
 
The reason I like folex so much is every stain I have thrown at folex it has not let me down. Also I just feel safer knowing folex is not going to damage whatever I use it on.

I mostly use Folex for headliners. I just lightly mist and then use my vapor steamer with the diapering method. Works incredibly.
 
FWIW, I've noticed that Folex seems to work really well on organic stains and dirt. For grease and other inorganics, APC seems to have the edge.

Both have their place in my arsenal.

Be careful using the steam on headliners man - it can and will loosen the glue that holds the headliner up :/ I learned this after steaming the headliner in my truck to bring my son home from the hospital (newborn) - 6 months later..... the headliner is drooping everywhere :/

you wrap a white cotton towel around the end. Most guys use a special attachement that holds a small terry cotton towel in place. I don't like this method because you constantly have to be changing out the towel. It's a complete waste of time.


I use a larger towel and wrap it over the end of a brush attachement. I twist the towel around the wand and hold it with my free hand. When it gets dirty, I just unwrap it, move it over a few inches to a clean section and then rewrap... only takes about 5 second. Hope that makes sense.
 
Once again.... using steam on the headliners will Loosen the glue - making the headliner droop over time ;)

I only use steam on very dirty headliners...where you really don't have much to lose. I never use direct steam. By wrapping a towel over the end, it lowers the temperature of the steam coming in contact with the headliner, significantly. I also move very quickly.


On a slightly dirty headliners, I just mist with folex and wipe off with a clean white towel.
 
Folex is in a league by itself IMO, no APC I've used compares to how easy Folex is to use, and removes any "stain" I've encountered, from oil to sodas. Even if an APC works, it has a scent to it, needs more wiping off, more working in, you just can't compare them.
