footwear for detailing?

Hi there, I work at a dealership and also have my own detail company. I wash a lot of cars so my shoes get wet. Anyone have a good recommendation for a boot that can withstand the water and chemical from washing cars that are not too heavy and bulky to move around inside the vehicle with?

I bought a pair of brand name hiking boots but they are beat up and have not even used them a year. I also went through a few pairs of laces.

Any suggestions would be great.

Also, what is your favorite MF brand? I use Cobra but is there a better brand?
 
I wear the Oakleys in the summer. No matter how hard I try, I always get my shoes wet doing wheels and tires.

I use Cabela boots quilted for winter the unlined for summer. waterproof, I work with water everyday that has high concentration of chlorine in it.
 
See my comments in the Oakley thread. There are "water shoes", a.k.a. water friendly tennis shoes that drain and dry quickly everywhere from Wal Mart on up.

To your second question Poorboys World microfibers, especially DMTs.

As much as I hate to admit it, Garry got me hooked on Crocs. Water flows right through and when your feet get hot just shoot a stream of water through the holes to cool them off. I picked up a yellow pair for $7 when the Hallmark store couldn't move them, but when these wear out I will probably spring for a black or grey pair.
 
I have a pair of slogger garden shoes that work very well. They also make boots.

Sure you can find a pair that are not this brand for less, I only got them due to the reviews on them, and 2 knock offs ( can't recall the name ) that got poor reviews on Amazon.

They are a better arch support ( and if selected correctly- color ) version of the yellow slicker rain boots the Morton's salt girl wears.

for temps closer to 35, I just wear my Pac boots, but I doubt you would want to wear them all day. maybe you do, you will build one heck of a quad hauling them around all day.

The MF towels. I currently only have the PoorBoy versions. The velvet glass towels and Spray and Wipe on glass work great.
 
Keen utility foot wear go to their web site they have something for everyone and every type of working condition.

I have Keen hiking boots and they are not holding up. Thanks for all the help. I will find something and let you know how I like them.
 
Boat shoes work perfect for me down in Florida. They get wet and dry quickly slip resistant too.
 
I had to get a pair of oil and slip resistant shoes for work. They're by Reebok. Had em a year and a half. Comfort is so so, 6/10, but safety first!
