So I felt bad that I didn't show off how pleased I was with AW on my wife's Explorer, but by the time I could get around to taking pics, it had already rained on it. I cannot post that! So, I took some pics of my washing and Aquawaxing the Dodge.

Enjoy!

1) Looking OK, dirty from a week of not washing it. Looked worse in person, lots of rain/sprinkler spots on the hood.

2) Looks like the Pete's 53 is holding up well after 4 weeks...

3) Got my stuff ready to go! Who said anything about a 2 bucket method? Real men use the 3 bucket method!!!

AW4.jpg

4) A little foam action, a little washing action...

5) After washing and flooding, how about taking the shop vac to it and have the Guzzler GUZZLE all that excess water off? LOVE IT!

6) All dry! I went ahead and Aquawaxed the whole thing after this step.

It was starting to get dark at this point, so I don't have that many pics. Sorry!!!

Just look at that reflection, very nice...looks like you just polished it and went through all the steps there.

Very nice.

Thanks for sharing, truck looks very nice.

Looking good! Hmm, your citrus wash looks different from mine. Mine is translucent. How much citrus wash u put in that foam gun? I'm guessing u mixed citrus and gold class together. I'm planning to buy the cheap foam gun and I'm afraid of putting too much citrus wash that it will strip the wax.

Klumzy, I actually use the cannister of the foam gun to measure 1 ounce to put in my 5 gallon bucket and mix it with water. I just used the gold class for the foaming action.

Don't forget: you have to shake the crap out of the Citrus Wash before using it!

Cummins :righton:....how'd you like the Petes 53?, I have CG 5050 and love it.

I love that Pete's '53, it's a very nice wax! I will buy some 50/50 next time around and try that out!!!

Wow that's smart. My dixie plastic measuring cup has a crack and I need a sturdier cup :p. Yeah, I had to shake that big gallon. I literally bounced it up and down on my bed to mix it so i won't be so tired.

Piet, ypur truck looks fantastic! Wowee, is that ever a nice job. Love the pictures - I don't think I have ever seen your truck before except in the Avatar!!!!

That looks great P1et! That CG Citrus wash looks like orange juice. I have been using an electric leaf blower to dry my cars off do to recomenations by killr and some others on the forum. It works great at blowing the water out of the bed on my truck as well as getting the water out of the cracks and dying off the truck. I really love it for drying off wheels. Thanks for the pictures.

guys use an air compressor!!! ya'll scare me with blowers and shop vacs!! dude ur truck is lookin good!

I had used an air compressor for years to blow water out of the cracks and I was very skeptical about using a leaf blower. I was worried about sand blasting my cars with it. It actually works very well.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I have a leafblower at the house, but for some reason always get better results with the shop vac. That Ridgid seems to be a bit more powerful, it has a clean filter on the inside so I'm not too worried about it blowing rocks or anything of that nature at my truck.

Piet, what kind of foam gun is that? Where did you get it? Do tell...

Thanks.;)

very nice P1ET !! I gotta get some AW I've been holding back, but I'm sold :)

Is you Ridgid shop vac the type where the motor comes off and you can use it as a blower with having the hole vac lid with it?

It's the cheap $9 foam gun from Lowes! It's not exactly a Gilmour, but it does the job!!!

Actually, it's the regular 3.5 hp unit. There is one hole that sucks and one hole that blows. I just need to swap the hose from one side to the other, works great!!!
