I have a 5 HP 16 gallon Craftsman that I got for Christmas 4-5 years ago. It works the same way. One hole to vac and one hole to blow air. I have seen them where the motor detaches from the lid and you can use it like a leaf blower without having the lid attached.

I know exactly which ones you mean! They look pretty handy, but I know they cost a little bit more. Your 5HP version probably blows the doors right off the Viper!

It's a bit unhandy to hold the shop vac in one hand and blow off the excess water with the other, but it's worth it. That concentrated stream of air is perfect for just blowing everything off the paint. Especially after it's been nicely waxed!

Having a nice coat of wax or sealant on then blowing the vehicle partially dry is great. I use to use a couple of MF towels to dry a car now I only use one and it's just a little damp when I'm finished. It is faster and requires less towel to paint contact.
 
no offense, but gotta get a real foam gun. I hated that one from Walmart. You gotta try the Gilmour gun from Pinnacle.

Price IS an issue for me;) I have an older Gilmour "gun", but it doesn't have the pin "adjuster" on it to control how much soap gets mixed and it uses a LOT of soap, so I just don't use it. All I need is the pin to be fully operable----anyone want to sell one:-)

I have a new friend by way of AL-53-----DG 521. I picked some up locally at Carquest (2 miles from my house) and I have to say that the DG 521 seemed easier to use than DG AW and left the paint really SLICK and glossy! Also, I tried the DG 521 RV/marine protectant on the tires because Al-53 stated that DG said it was more durable/lasts longer because it's designed for marine use and has to stand up to lots of water. It looks great (not TOO glossy) and we'll see about the durability. Thanks AL!

May I just say, your paint looks like a mirror. Best looking HD Dodge I've seen.:applause:

Thanks Sparkie! She in no way gets used like a heavy duty truck though. Never been off-road, never towed anything, weekly wash, always garaged and all maintenance done at the dealership by the book. She's spoiled!
 
PS: just drove through a rain storm this morning. I have to tell you: AW over Pete's '53 is beading excellence at it's finest! That truck was dry once I got to my destination!!!
 
Thats one of the characteristics I found in the DG products..the water repellentcy...and the sorta self cleaning it gets in the rain...dirts washes off...

Amazing pics, that "dirty" first pic actually looks REALLY clean.

That pic w the MF towls as AW lookslike it could be an advertising pic.
