For you 3D fans. HD Adapt has been discontinued

I liked adapt as it can have as much cut as HD cut with better finish or if you use it with boss yellow pad it finished better then carpro reflect...2 in one polish

Yeah and it didn't cost $12.00 more per 32oz. bottle as AAT Compound. What the heck was 3d thinking.

Wow, I'm glad I picked up Adapt when I did. I also can't help but wonder if this has anything to do with Cut and Polish's recent formula updates/tweaks, perhaps one closes the gap?

Cut+ finishes slightly better and dusts less than the previous Cut, but still finishes nowhere near as close to Adapt.

since AG doesn't carry it anymore, your best chance to get a bottle is from a 3D store if you have one in your area...

For now. But it's not a matter of "AG not carrying it anymore" it's why in the world would 3D discontinue making a successful product.

It would be nice if David F or someone from 3D would chime in here with their rational behind the decision.

Thanks for posting your experience with Cut+, I haven't tried it yet so it's nice to hear about your real-world experience. I just recently decided to try HD products (Adapt, Speed, and Poxy) after hearing so many positive reviews. I have been more than satisfied with Menzerna as my go-to, but I know inevitably there will be a paint situation where they won't jive well, and I wanted some back-up products. I've been very impressed with Adapt so far, and it's really too bad that it's been given the boot. The AAT line I'm sure is good, but they approach the cost of Menzerna, and part of the appeal of the HD line is the low cost compared with many other top-tier products.

Everyone that has tried the AAT products rave about them. Adapt even touted its 'Adaptive Abrasive Technology" so I'm guessing there was a lot in common between the products.

Back in when 3/D owned Autopia this kind of stuff went on all the time, from HD Uno version 1 thru whatever it is now (had to look for a number on label),Poxy separation issues, from their polisher working at different opm's on different units or just plain ole breaking(don't remember exact issues) then a well known detailer posting a YouTube vid on how it sounded as loud as a train and then removed most likely from pressure. To the countless "it's coming soon" threads to the BDX can be diluted, this company just left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a shame because they do make quality products at great prices. One thing I know is I won't pay 50% more for the AAT to see how it compares to Adapt and luckily I still have about 20oz left

agreed, the longer he waits the worse it looks for the company. I would have thought he'd want to get out in front of this thing and explain the reasoning behind their decision. Now it's just really uncomfortable.lol

would wolfgang total swirl remover have the versatility of adapt? or mckees compound?

Could have said it better myself. I have been underwhelmed by all of the products I have tried from them.

Theres a solution, its called FG400, SF3500. All one ever needs, just try different pad combinations depending on cut and finish required.

Menzerna is good too. But isn't it DAT compared to HD which is SMAT? That's once reason I have not tried menz yet, apart from cost.

It would come down to learning a new technique and work times etc. SMAT I feel is dummy proof. I just started out more than a year ago and the Megs line is what I started with for this very reason.

Just my personal opinion.

I too started on SMAT and find the DAT to finish better. Very easy learning curve.

I was thinking exact opposite, think DAT is dummy proof compare to SMAT.

DAT, it will get finer and finer and give you extremely clear surface even with FG400, which is compound (when used with polishing pad), I use this combo a lot.

SMAT like M100 /105 I can cut much faster with only 2-3 passes because I dont lose cutting power but I find finish isn't as good or harder to achive,
thats why I like to cut with meguiars and polish with menzerna.

Anyways

I did not know ADAPT was so famous.
It worked great with long working time, but I never picked up that bottle when it comes to time to work.

I still have almost full bottle of 16oz ADAPT lol
